in my case nilalagay ko siya sa pang banlaw na tubig ni baby. I guess okay naman sa kanya. I started doing that since he is 4-5 months until now. Maybe ibat iba lang talaga ang skin nang mga babies.

pinapaliguan ko din si baby with calamasi, pero syempre the mildest formula, what I mean is... sobrang daming tubig then, maybe, mga 1 or 2 pcs lang ng calamansi. It doesn't have any claims na nakakapagpaputi but nakakapagpakinis and nakakapaglighter ng complexion ni baby. I've been doing this since I've gave birth with my first born (9 years old). And, there's no bad side effects naman.....

Kailangan ba talaga maputi ang babies? :) #justasking

Yung baby ko, common na napapansin ng mga tao yung dark complexion niya, which he inherited from his father. Morena beauty din ako (naks!) kaya shempre, accepted namin na talagang ganun ang color ni baby. Friends and even family are also suggesting bathing him in calamansi (and even tea!) para nga daw pumusyaw ang kulay. I didn't do anything about it. At least paglaki ni baby, matatawag siyang "tall, dark and handsome" hehe. :)

Just my two cents...

^For me, hindi naman ako particular sa color ng complexion ni baby, what I want for them is to stay smooth ang skin. Kasi, as we all know, kahit naman anaong gawin natin, since they inherited our morena skin, we really can't do anything na mapaputi yun...

I get irrirtated with people who fuss over one's skin color na kelangan maputi. My husband and I are both morenos so we were expecting of course na morena din ang daughter namin. She turned out to be maputi kase Chinese naman ang family ng husband ko and maputi ang mother in law ko.

I agree with the other mom here na it's not important at all kung maputi or hinde, what's more important is thatthe skin is healthy and smooth. No matter how maputi a person is, kung magaspang ang skin, hinde pa din maganda tignan. I bathe my daughter with milk everyday and it makes her skin super soft and smooth. Yan din ang nagtatanggal ng marks sa skin niya pag nagakaka-mosquito bites or small scratches.

Here's my daughter's bath ritual:
1. steep green tea into a cup of hot water and pour into her bath water
2. lather evap milk all over her skin and let it sit while she brushes her teeth
3. squeeze 2-3 pieces of calamansi on her bath water
4. bathe as usual

Parang ibababad mo lang sa skin niya yung milk before taking a bath. I put it on her skin before she brushes her teeth para may time for the milk to sit on her skin. It requires effort pero worth it naman especially when I see how smooth and glowing her skin is. I find it effective din in removing mosquito bite marks.

Just to give you an idea, nung Sunday, nagkaron ng around 6 bite marks sa legs yung anak ko kase hinde nilagyan ng jammies ng husband ko pagbaba sa sala namin. I just did our usual bath ritual except that I also lathered calamansi extract on her skin after I put the milk. Make sure lang na hinde nagsugat yung bite mark or hinde na-scratch kase pag nagka-gash na yon syempre mahapdi pag nalagyan ng calamansi. In our case kase, bago pa lang yung bite marks and hinde nagkaron ng chance ang anak ko ng makamot kase I put calamine lotion on the bite marks immediately. So nagkaron sya nung Sunday, super nabwisit nga ko kay hubby. Few days ago, wala na kaagad. Super clear na ulit yung legs ng daughter ko.
