hi mommy javvy! i'm a breastfeeding SAHM, currently bfeeding my second son for almost 8 months na. nung una problema ko din yan, nakaka-frustrate diba. lalo na pag umiiyak ang baby, napipilitan ako magbigay ng formula kahit ayoko. pero di ako nag-give-up, what i did was constantly put him on my breasts, as in di na kami naghihiwalay mag-ina. ;D the soups and the malunggay helps, pero what increases the milk talaga is yung frequent stimulation ng baby...the ever famous law of supply and demand na sinasabi ng mga bfeeding articles, totoong totoo po. ;) don't measure your milk supply sa dami ng na-pump mo kasi hindi ka talaga masasatisfy pag yun ang tiningnan mo. basta just nurse directly as often as your baby wants kasi sya ang magsasabi sa system ng mommy if he needs more, surprisingly your breast will produce more talaga.
important mommy to give him both your breasts para pantay ang milk production kasi pag sa isa lang sya ngffeed, naku mommy baka yun isang breast malaki at yung isa maliit. ;D
good luck mommy, kaya mo yan!

oo nga mommy naniniwala ako dyan...actually sakin left ang food, right ang water, kasi yung medyo thick and creamy yun daw ang solids side, then yung lighter at malabnaw yun ang liquids side. kaya nga for the first 6 months no water talaga diba kasi we supply water already through bmilk.
sabi pa nga sakin nung naghilot sakin pag may hiccup daw baby bfeed lang...totoo naman mas mabilis mawala hiccup kesa painumin ng water from the bottle. ;)

Drink drink drink as much water, juice as you can.  At least 2 glasses before and during breast feeding or pumping.  And lots more glasses throughout the day.  Almost to the point that you feel you want to go to the bathroom all the time!  Soup, fruits, vegetable all help because obviously, liquid is the main ingredient.

Relax and rest.  You need it to let the hormones do the walking!

Don't sleep on your chest.  Lie down on your back so no pressure on the breasts and the breasts will not "think" they're full.

Breastfeed directly as frequently as possible.  Some pumps do not express milk efficiently.  Baby will also need you for the warmth and comfort, even if he is full.

tips on milk supply:
- lots of liquids :)  preferrably warm or hot :)  pls stay away from caffeine :) wont decrease your supply, but remember what you drink, is same as what u feed your baby ^_^
** read some tips that if you can, DRINK WHILE NURSING :)  before and after would be great also :)
- malunggay :)  this is really really really effective :) there are a lot of malunggay capsules/supplements in the market today, you may try that :)  what i did, or what my mom did (hehe)  she planted malunggay, then she would just boil this with water and a little bit of salt.  Most moms use malunggay as an ingredient in a dish, my mom made malunggay the main ingredient.. it's like eating the malunggay like a malunggay salad :)  the taste.. well.. not so good hehe .. but highly effective in producing milk for sure :)
- think happy thoughts :)
- relax.. if you're stressed, you will notice your milk supply will decrease...
- try to feed as often as you can.. if your baby won't feed so often (most girls don't feed as much as boys) express milk and store in freezer... expressing milk as often as you can will help in continuous supply of milk.. it's like telling your body that you need milk.. milk is produced on demand.. so if your child's demand is high, the body will produce more.. so if you take a routine say every 2 to 3 hours of feeding/expressing milk.. then your body will produce milk every 2 to 3 hours also :)
- put warm compress on your breasts..plus a light massage.. to help ease out milk... (this also helps for engorged breasts)
- it would be great to have a good breastpump :)  really good ones are a bit expensive, try scouting for used ones :)  look for those with double pumps :)  most of the time, when we express milk on 1 breast, the other breast leaks milk also, so double pumps would ensure no milk is wasted, plus you save time on expressing milk :)  and if you plan to breastfeed for a long time, get the electric pumps :)  this task even though rewarding, is also very very tiring.. so would be great if you wouldn't have to manually do it :)
- heard about lactation massages?, haven't tried this yet though :)

do the breasfeeding frequently as possible. kasi our breastmilk supply is like the law of supply and demand.
