hi kobies mum! I've ebf my baby for 6mos now. She has started solids na rin. So now that she's older, i'm training my baby to drink from a cup... Open cup pa at that. I sometimes give her expressed breastmilk or water when she eats or drink her vitamins. Now medyo marunong na humawak ng cup and magsip. If you're a SAHMmie, mas maganda talaga direct feed sayo, then itrain mo na diretso sa cup para walang nipple confusion/preference.

Hi mompam! I think big factor yung lack of sleep mo sa decrease ng milk production. Kasi at night, when we!re more relaxed, the hormone that makes milk is more active. Try to rest and sleep when your baby sleeps and sleep with your baby. Forget muna all the chores, ask for help from relatives so you can take time to relax. You may want to read more about increasing milk supply at lownilksupply.org. And as much as possible direct feed kay baby.

yes kobies mum.. I tried giving her a cup with sippy spout hindi sya marunong, kinakagat lang niya dahil nagteteething sya ngayon. Nainspire kasi ako sa isang video ng 9 month old baby who was self-feeding na, and can hold an open cup and drink. So target ko rin un.

mommy ainge, we bought a cup sa mothercare na may attachments for different stages - sippy spout, cover extended brim with holes and yung plain brim for open cup. Sometimes i use avent via cup kasi tama lang yung laki niya and medyo malambot.

ganyan nga nanotice ko... mas magana sya ngayon magdede now na nagsolids na kami. basta after ng solid meal niya, gusto niya dede sya kahit na binigyan ko na sya ng water or expressed BM sa cup. pero once a day pa kami nagsolids for 3 weeks now. baka istart ko na sya 2x a day pag 7 mos na sya. lately lang kasi sya nagana sa solid food, ang dami ko pang tinry bago niya nagustuhan. brown rice cereal ang type niya and hinahaluan ko nalang nga veggies na natry na namin dati.

Hi mommy! You're stressed kaya you have low milk supply.  Stress gravely affects the milk supply. Try to relax po para mas maestablish yung milk glow mo. When you have time, get some rest. Get all the help you can get. And hopefully you'll get through with your post partum blues.

Take care! :)

Hi my baby is 2 wks old, and when I started out (breastfeeding) ok naman supply ko. Kaso naging mababa siya lately.. and I noticed my son cries a lot when he sucks my breasts, I think he doesn't get enough milk. What should I do to increase my supply? I'm mix feeding now, and I want to be able to breastfeed him exclusively. Please help. :(

congrats on your new bundle of joy mommy sarj! :)

try mo pa rin ebf, wag ka muna bigay ng bottle kasi for sure magdip yung supply mo.. or you can pump every 2hours if your mixed feeding para ma maintain pa rin yung supply.. pero ang nakakapalaks lang talaga ng milk supply natin eh yung demand ng babies natin.. so need talaga siya mismo ang magsuck..

ok ba yung latch niya mommy? also try natalac or prolacta or fenugreek.. eat oatmeal din and drink lots and lots of water..

basta ipasuck mo lang kay baby.. rest plenty.. get enough sleep.. and most of all.. relax..

goodluck!  hth.. im no expert pero this works on me so far.. 7months bf na rin.. hehe

mommy sarj, maganda din magbasa  ng articles online and books on breastfeeding like sa kellymom.com about different issues faced by BF mom. meron kasing ibang issues na same yung signs - like fussy baby, always crying at breast - mom will think wala sya supply, un pala meron but oversupply naman and forceful letdown kaya baby cries when nursing kasi sobrang lakas ng labas ng milk.  ang effect naman nito is slowed weight gain kahit na madami pala yung milk. anyway, madami pa online resources like lowmilksupply.org specifically for low milk supply.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies mommy ainge88 and mommy n.

I have another question din po. 1) Have you ever experienced na may lumabas na buo buong milk from your breasts? Para siyang curd, but it is yellowish in color (the color of breastmilk in the first few days..) and 2) Is it possible that I have more milk than I think? Kasi when I pump, (I use a manual breast pump lang) parang uunti yung lumalabas.. but when baby sucks from me, I hear him take big gulps. My breasts are also soft, unlike before when my breasts were really engorged and painful, whenever I pump I produced about 3-4 oz per 2 hours. Now my breasts are soft, and whenever I pump I only get about half an oz or even less sometimes.. but baby seems to be satisfied, he falls asleep whenever nagbbreastfeed siya.. pero he wakes up agad (diba every 2-3 hours ang feeding? sometimes he wakes up before 2-3 hours. and I make sure he doesn't need a nappy change or he's not cold/hot. gutom talaga siya.) I'm confused. :| :(

Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience to young moms like me. I very much appreciate it.

I'll try to read more on breastfeeding when I have time away from the baby.

I dont think you should be worried as long as your baby is thriving.

pag simula kasi hindi pa alam ng katawan mo kung isang gaanung milk yung ipoproduce kaya your breasts are engorged pero pag tumatagal sya, nag aadjust sya sa demands ng baby mo. pag madalas ka nagnunurse then mabilis nag poproduce yung katawan mo ng milk. pag hindi naman...malamang mawawala yung milk mo.   breast milks are also easily digested kaya feed ka by demand.  wag mong bilangin yung oras. you're doing fine mommy.  :) keep breastfeeding.
