^madami namang reasons sis why OBs request for an early ultrasound like: 1. it can confirm if patient is indeed pregnant or the viability of pregnancy (detection of gestational sac, yolk sac, heart beat etc), 2. to check if it is intra-uterine, meaning hindi ectopic, kasi if a patient comes with positive signs (and symptoms) of pregnancy  tapos on ultrasound walang makitang gestational sac inside the uterus, the OB may  suspect a possible ectopic pregnancy, 3. also for accurate dating of pregnancy, especially for  women who have irregular menstrual cycle or cannot provide accurate LMP (estimating gestational age via ultrasound is most accurate if done early in pregnancy, it becomes less accurate  if done later),  4. it can also serve as basis for comparison for subsequent scans (in other words, parang baseline), to check if pregnancy is progressing normally or not, or to detect complications before it's too late, or if any abnormality (like myoma, cysts etc) is detected early in pregnancy, yung early ultrasound will serve as basis kung nag-increase in size or number...hope this helps ;)

hi sis darna in my case I asked talaga for tvs because of my history of MC, pero ang issue ko with that doc was she didn't bother to explain anything or work out the dates with me, nung tvs she wasn't saying anything tapos she just said to get her diagnosis and prescription from the records section. pagkuha ko nakalagay sa paper was ''threatened abortion'' tapos naka lock na yung ofc niya kasi next patient na yung nandun. Sana lang some OBs are more sympathetic to moms pag dating sa mga ganyan. I went to a diff OB 2 days after.

the sac is empty or smaller, a scan is usually recommended seven to 10 days after the initial test. If it still has not grown, it is generally assumed that a miscarriage has already taken place.

Hi mga sis, 1st 3 days na delayed ako negative, after 5 days positive but the other is faint line and succeeding 3 PTs positve.
Now i consulted an OB last tues. to date 5w and 2d as per my last menstration, upon transV walang nakita na sac? :(
Mga sisses may nangyari na ba same scenario like me? Is it too early im hoping not ectopic ;(

Ill repeat my ultrasound again since today positive pa din Pt ko ;( im worried

Same case ako sa mga ibang mommies to be.
I went sa OB Nov 5, based sa LMP ko 6 weeks na pero sac palang ang nakita. pero when i checked the ultra sound report, 5 weeks and 2 days palang daw based on AOG. She advised me to have a bed rest for 1 week and yung andun sa medcert is threatened abortion. She advised me na yun daw ang ilalagay niya kahit hindi para daw payagan ako ng office ko. she knows kasi how strict yung company namin pagdating sa mga 1 week leave.
sa results ng ultrasound ko, no yolk sac and fetal pole yet. Balik ako on the 23rd to check if may development na ba si baby.

Pinapabalik ako after 2 weeks for fetal viability. Napapraning ako baka hindi na nag grow..

Hello Alcana. Ano po sabi ng doctor niyo na dapat niyo nang gawin?
