Hi.

Anyone here who have investment on mutual fund? Safer daw ito than stocks? Anong experiences nyo dito? What are the risks?

I'm really interested but i'm not familiar with it. Can anyone help me?

Hi Sis! Right you are that mutual funds is waaayyy better than stocks. Kasi kung wala kang alam sa stocks, you're more likely to fail on that venture. I have a mutual fund investment sa Philam. I got it from my own financial brokerage business. Kasi sa company namin, natuturuan kami kung paano yung tamang pagiipon at pagiinvest.

Hindi lahat ng mutual funds stable, it depends on the company/person/entity that handles your mutual funds.

para sa akin naman hindi naman nakakatakot ang stocks basta investment ang goal mo, hindi trading. magandang basahin ang book ni Bo sanchez , my maid invests in stock market.

 for 2011 , FAMI ang  number 1 sa annual return performance sa mutual funds, even yung previous year maganda performance nila.  sa amin naman mag asawa instead na mutual fund, sa UITF  kami ( almost same ng principle ng mutual fund yun nga lang mga banks ang nagmamanage ng pera). 
pag pasok nyo sa mutual fund/ uitf  i-aassess  naman muna yung risk appetite nyo kasi iba iba rin ng category  eh. may money market,balanced fund, may equity.

Mutual funds Companies are companies that handles money and invest them on stocks and/or bonds. The money comes from the investors pooled funds. For sunlife, a minimum of 5K pwede ka ng maginvest.

Mutual funds are better kaysa ikaw mismo ang magaral at maghandle ng investments mo sa stocks or bonds. Kasi mutual funds have experience fund managers that would know when and where to invest yung money mo... they are more prudent kasi un talga ang trabaho nila... ibig sabihin, immonitor mo na lang yugn performanc ng money mo...

I have invested in Sunlife's Mutual fund. I invested purely in Balance Fund.

Tama si MmyJorayma na mas magandang mag-invest sa mga companies na nag-o-offer ng ganong investment kasi sila ang nagpapatakbo sa pera mo. At the sametime meron kang personal financial advisor na nagmomonitor sa investment mo.

Before ka naman mag-invest sa napili mong company, you will have a "test" which they call risk appetite kung anong klase ka bang investor tapos from the result of the test dun na sasabihin ng advisor mo kung saang fund ka nababagay mag-invest.

With stocks, kailangan mong aralin kung paano maglaro with it kung gusto mong kumita nga malaki.

Saka depende naman yun sa goal mo. Para sa akin, kung long-term investment ang plan mo maganda ang mutual fund pero kapag short term investment with high chances of returns sa stocks ka.

I've been mulling over investing in mutual funds... as in mga two years ago pa when I started thinking about, kaso didn't have anyone to explain it to me in detail (how it works and all that) so di ko na napursue. Pa-PM din po ako ng info about it.

IMO, investing in mutual funds or stocks - both are 'risky', kumbaga e, hindi ka laging nasa 'taas'. Even the safest portfolios or managed funds can get 'troubled'. Pero I guess the best bet would be to go with a company who would best be able to handle it for you, especially kung hindi ka naman super knowledgeable about it.

I heard some good stuff about Sunlife's mutual funds, and would love to hear more.

Hi mga mommies!  For more info, google "Mutual Funds in the Philippines." You will get so many answers that are simple and easy to understand.  You may also go to your bank and ask for more info on mutual funds.  It's so easy!  There's a bank that currently accepts miminum of 10,000 pesos to start a mutual fund then afterwards, 1000 pesos na every month.  I hope this helps.
