Nido vs. Enfagrow: Price/Scoop/Nutritional Value
« on: November 08, 2011, 07:51:15 am »

Hi I'm just a newbie here. After reading alot of the discussions here, I decided to join and directly ask my question:
Mas mura nga ba ang Nido sa Enfagrow A+? If you compare their prices talagang mas mahal ang Enfagrow which is more than 800 pesos per 1.2 kg. Nido is more than 500pesos sa 1.2. BUT, Nido has bigger scoop - 225ml of water = 7 scoops which is equivalent to 1 scoop per 1 oz. I haven't seen the actual scoop ng Enfagrow kc naka enfapro pa baby ko which has smaller scoop and 1 scoop = 1 oz din.  According to what I read, Enfagrow has a bigger scoop but the mixing is 1 scoop = 2 oz of water.  So if cocompare halos pareho lang or parang mas mahal pa ang Nido?
I just noticed this kasi I tested the 370grams na Nido sa baby ko and 1 and a half day lang sa kanya yun. 66 scoops lang siya.
I was so happy pa naman kc mas mura ang Nido tapos if titingnan ang nutrition facts niya mas masustansya sya sa Enfagrow. Pero now I think mas namahalan pa ata ako.
Anyone noticed the same?

like you mommy we happened to compare prices of formula milk just recently. nagmahal nanaman kasi ang Gain. Nagpunta kami SM Hypermarket to look for another milk na cheaper sana. we are considering then un lactum, nido jr and bonakid. apparently we noticed na although mas mahal ang Gain sa Nido Jr, Lactum and Bonakid un nutrients naman is more than doubled tapos un nga un sa scoop, 7 sa 1 glass of water versus sa 3 sa 180 ml sa Gain. So what we do, hanap pa kami other cheaper brand, and we saw un Grow 1-3 from abbot din. medyo mas mura sa Gain but almost same quality plus same pa ng scoop with Gain. kung ttingin ka milk consider din un carbohydrates level niya, kasi pag nga mataas un ibig sabihin mataas ang sugar. i noticed din that Gain un may pinakamababang carbo kaya halos walang tamis talaga sya. u can assure na mas maraming nutrients nakukuha ni baby kesa sa sugar.

sis momaye:

Hi Mommy. that's a good point. napareaserach tuloy ako. according to mims.com, eto angreconstitution ng Nido Jr.: 7 scoops (36 g) to 225 mL of water, and GPA: 1 scoop to 60 mL water or 149.1 g of powd to 1 L water. if we will use ration and prortion, sa 1 liter you will need 160 g of Nido Jr, while GPS is 149.1 g lang. Ig Grow 1-3 naman, 2 scoops in 175 mL of water bid-qid.

ang ginawa namin is 2 scoops of Gain plus 1 scoop of Grow. but i have found out that based on RDA for 1-3 years old e nasa Lactum, Nido Jr at Grow na din. So choose ka na lang which will fit your son. two na pala sya kaya pwede na yan mommy. malkaing difference lang talaga un DHA at nucleotides contents nila. feed him na lang ng fish coz it has high omega 3 fatty acids. a sfor other nutrients though may mga differences naman pwede na nay un makuha sa solid foods. nakita ko nga din un nutrilin pala has many mineral contents versus growee. may CGF lang naman ang growee. im planning to switch kaya lang iniisip ko din ano hiyang sa anak ko. how about your son's vitamin?

hi sis..si baby ko before enfagrowA+ din milk niya but since medyo nga mahal tnry ko magswitch sa nido coz iv been reading good feedbacks naman about nido..i tried her on lactum sana since mead johnson din me gawa nito pero nag-lbm sya e with nido okay ang poop niya..sis if u compare their prices mas malaki talaga matitipid mo with nido.. kasi sis to correct u enfagrowA+ 1.2g is 1000+ (1,069 ata not sure of the exact amount) since i cant check the receipt pa kasi nasa work ako..900 g pa lang kasi enfagrowA+ is already 784 while 1K for NIDO is 450+ and tama ka 1.2kg is 555..2KG of nido is only 870..almost same price as enfagrowA+ 900g lang..

After 2 weeks of testing, I noticed na mas mura nga talaga ang Nido.. Dati in 2 weeks nakaka halos 2thousand pesos ako sa gatas ng baby. Ngayon around 1,500 pesos lang. Mataba naman ang baby ko at malaki, 11.4kilograms sya at 1 year old. Minsan ayaw din nyang dumede, not sure if dahil sa gatas.
If you compare the nutritional value, mas higit yung nutrients ng NIDO.
So far, I'll stick with Nido and I hope hiyang ni baby.

next year, i will ask his pedia what milk to switch.

As of now my babys milk is ENFAGROW A+, so far so good naman sa baby ko, kasi di pa sya masyadong kumakain ng solid, minsan lang at hindi naman masyadong madami, dependent parin sya sa milk niya, nakaka 4 bottles a day sya 8oz per bottle. kapag gabi sa akin sya dumedede. Yung prob ko lang is that yung poops niya. hard stools talaga, minsan may blood pa ngang kasama. nung una kasi 4 scoops to 7 oz water yung pag reconstitute ko, as of instruction naman. but yung ginawa ko nung 1-2 days syang di naka popo at kapag nagpopo na sya eh umiiyak kasi mahirap nyang ipalabas. ginawa kung 3 scoops yung 7 oz na milk. pero matigas parin. haiz, ginawa ko ding 3 scoops to 8 oz. at parang naging ok naman yung poops niya now. pero napansin ko parang di na sya nag gain ng weight. same padin. gusto kung mag switch ng milk. sabi ng pedia nga try ko yung NAN PRO 3 . titingnan ko kapag maging hiyang sya sa NAN oks na. 1 year and 3 months palang naman sya now. kapag di niya magustuhan ang NaN baka mag NIDO nalang kami.. :)
Diba momies normal naman yan na we try and try hanggang makita natin kung ano best for our babies.. :)

Hi mommies! I am new here :) Bale, I am planning to switch my son's milk kasi ang mahal ng enfagrow a+.. Can you suggest cheaper brands with the same quality and nutritional facts? thanks, mommies :)
