hi mga sis! just wanna share this, im confused kasi... i had my OB's check-up yesterday for annual paps and for my other personal concerns. one area that we discussed is the HPV vaccine, i got my first shot back there in the Philippines and i want to complete them so i asked my OB here(US) if she can give me my remaining 2 shots. weird kasi she told me na they are not giving it daw, instead the pediatricians here are the ones giving it. of course i asked how come? since dyan sa atin almost everybody eh gustong magpavaccine her answer really confused me. she said that it is normally given to "virgin" female ages 9-20 before they become sexually active, before being expose to the virus. if you are sexually active already and get the vaccine it will not prevent you from the virus na daw. sabi pa niya if you are married already what your partner have, you already have it and unless you are planning to have multiple sexual partners eh its useless na daw. it will only be effective daw if given before being expose to the virus (before being sexually active) and not if you're already engaging in sex not unless you're having multiple sexual partners OR if you're husband/boyfriend is also having sexual partners other than you. share ko lang mga sis added information lang. kaya i end up not having my vaccine na kasi hindi naman daw needed. nagtataka lang kasi ako kung hindi naman pala ito of "much" help eh bakit dyan satin mga OB nagbibigay nito? any other informations mga sis? im thinking if dapat ba ako magconsult sa pediatrician ng anak ko to get the vaccine?
