Salisbury Steak Recipe

SALISBURY STEAK
Ingredients:
1 pc egg
1 160g NESTLÉ Cream
˝ cup breadcrumbs
˝ tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground pepper
1 8g MAGGI Magic Sarap
˝ kg ground beef
cooking oil for frying
fried bacon (optional)
fried egg (optional)

Mushroom Gravy:
˝ cup sliced button mushroom
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup evaporated milk
2 tsp MAGGI Magic Sarap
1/8 tsp black pepper


Procedure:
1. In a large bowl, beat egg. Stir in NESTLÉ Cream, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and MAGGI MAGIC SARAP. Add beef and mix until fully combined. Shape into patties. Set aside.
2. Heat oil, cook prepared patties over medium heat until browned on each side.
3. To prepare gravy: Melt butter with 2 tbsp dripping from the fried patties. Stir in mushrooms and cook over high heat. Add in onions and cook until limp.
4. Add flour and cook while stirring until brown but not burnt. Pour in evaporated milk. Stir until slightly thick. Season with MAGGI Magic Sarap and pepper.
5. To assemble steak: Top prepared steak with a piece of fried egg and few pieces of fried bacon. Drizzle or serve gravy on the side.

This is my own version of the White Sauce: (Mas madali ito  ;) )

White Sauce for Salisbury Steak

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter
1/2 beef bullion cube dissolved in 1 cup of water (to make a broth)
1/2 cup cream
2 tablespoons flour dissolved in 1/4 cup of water (to make the sauce thick)
a dash of pepper

Here's how:

1) Melt butter in a thick sauce pan.
2) Add in beef broth. Simmer.
3) Add cream and mix.
4) Pour in the dissolved flour while stirring until sauce thickens. (You can add more dissolved flour if you want it thicker)
5) Add pepper.

Tips: Pag nagmamadali na kayo.

1) Ang bilhin nyong cream eh yung Nestle Cream in can (not the "All-purpose cream" in tetra pack)


Mas thick ito, 1/2 of it, you can already use for the Salisbury Steak meat mixture and the other 1/2 for your white sauce.

2) Pag madalian na, pinagsasama-sama ko na yung butter (kahit hindi pa melted), beef bullion (kahit hindi pa dissolved) at 1 cup of water.]

3) Pag kumulo (siguradong melted na yung butter at dissolved na yung bullion  ;D ) haluin lang. Then follow steps 3 to 5.

^I haven't tried the mushroom gravy above, but the White Sauce is always a hit!  ;) I even matched the White Sauce recipe with Chicken Cordon Bleu.

^hindi ko pa na-try yun sis, pero sige subukan mo, tapos balitaan mo ako kung okay siya, incorporate ko yung "mushroom" sa recipe ng white sauce...  ;)

i tried this receipe last weekend lang. first attempt (friday) ku ok naman, medyu napaalat lang ata yung white sauce ku. sabe ni hubby, salisbury pla to, bket walang mushroom. ngeek! heheh

so i cooked it again (sunday). pagkalagay ng butter, niluto ku muna yung mushroom, then add ku na yung water and beef cube. then cream naman. mas okay. this time ang problema, i dont know how to sliced the mushroom properly. ang ginawa ku, hinati ku lang sa gitna vertically yung mushroom, so medyu makapal yung hiwa. anyway, mas nagustuhan ni hubby, at least daw hinde yung parang tinipid, hehehhe..

thanks for sharing the recipe, simple yet delicious. okay for moms like me who doesn't really cook, beginner kumbaga.  ;)

sana more recipes! :)

^actually sis,  yung original recipe niyan, Mushroom Gravy talaga ang sauce.  Para di ka na mahirapan maghiwa, meron nang readily-sliced mushroom na mabibil sa supermarket sis.

In fact, yung white sauce, as suggested by a friend of mine, you can add bacon bits pa para mas sosyal, para presentable lalo sa mata ng husband mo.  Sa amin kase, kami-kami lang naman kumakain kaya hindi ko na nilalagyan ng ganon...  ;D

Ganon talaga sa umpisa, hindi pa siya perfect. Eventually, kahit nakapikit magagawa mo na yan.  ;)

And yes, yung mga easy recipes talaga ang tinatarget ko kase I'm a working mom, limited lang panahon ko magluto kaya naghahanap din ako ng recipe na madali pero masarap.  :D

Wow! :) I will definitely try this on Saturday, para maiba iba naman ang kinakain namin ng family ko! :) I hope I can make it good even on my first try! :) I was doing Burger Steak in White Sauce with Pineapple since I was in elementary so now that I found this I will give it a try! :) You can look for my recipe here, I just posted it! :D
