eat:

coke (same with coffee ang result)

good luck and happy breastfeeding

Hello BabyBlair,

I've read from a book na there's really no specific diet specific for breastfeeding moms - of course ideally, we do eat a balanced healthy diet - and that is to think applicable to everybody else, nanay, tatay, anak, breastfeeding moms, etc.... so what Casperthegoat says is actually good kasi all of those are healthy to eat.

Then with regards to bawal - wala naman specific... but like what casperthegoat says, medyo ingatan ang caffeine in general not because makakabawas ng supply ng milk but because it baka maging super active si baby... tipo bang hindi madaling matulog... pero depende naman yan sa baby. .everytime inom ako ng kape, she's having a hard time sleeping... not just coffee, chocolate... so for a some few months, nagdecaf muna ako at iwas sa chocolate.

My main advice is don't get too obessed with what you should eat or not because you're breastfeeding but be mindful of what you eat for your own health :)

One key to continuous breastmilk supply is continuous demand from baby... our body is really intelligent... mommies produce milk according to the demand... so kung constant ang pagdede ni baby, constant din ang breast supply.  The main stimulant for milk production is your baby's suction... kaya I advice breastfeeding by demand not per schedule.  Teka, baka maoff-topic na ako :)

I hope nakatulong ako sis!

Hi mommy blair! You gave birth na pala.. congrats!!!

Ako? Naku di yata healthy diet ko minsan kasi nalilimot ko kumain sa pagod or dami ng gawain (wag tularan!) pero nagmamalunggay capsules ako 3x a day tapos nung nakamaternity leave ako everyday ako nagooatmeal... ayun oversupply naman lagi ako nagleleak everywhere kahit may pads na.

Ang maipapayo ko lang wag ka papadehydrate. Sobrang important ang water kapag nagbbf.  :) And ayun avoid malansa foods like tuyo, tinapa, danggit.. kasi when i ate these nagstart magallergies si baby. Pero hypoallergenic naman ang bm eh... Para safe lang at sigurado.  ;D

i've also made research sa google about food na bawal for BFing moms. like all the mommies who posted, yung ngang caffeine, like coffee/tea/chocoloate nakakahyper daw kay baby.pansin ko nga pag inom ako ng iced tea, hirap sha makatulog.

what i eat naman is of course malunggay. tas sa work, sa canteen namin, anything na may sabaw. tas inom ako water before and after pumping. i also take malunggay caps once at breakfast and then at dinner time.

but pinaka important is yung pag direct feeding ni baby, the more times he feeds on you, the more milk u will produce.

hope this helps :)

Same with what buuurp posted, keep yourself hydrated. If you're like me who's a SAHM and no maids/yayas around, food sometimes is the last thing on your mind specially if you're taking care of your baby, for me I'd rather sleep than to eat so most of the time if my baby's sleeping, I'm sleeping too. But just make sure aside from keeping yourself hydrated, you eat a lot of galactagogue foods like oats, alfalfa, broccoli, papaya, spinach, or any dark green leafy vegetables. Or add spices to your food like garlic, ginger, anise, dill, sesame seeds, etc.

syempre there's the famous malunggay in any form.  :D

i tried yung cookies from mommy treats, gawa sya from galactagogue ingredients.  masarap sya and nag-increase naman yung suplly ng milk ko.

so yung tea, chocolates and the likes, wala naman magiging negative effect sa health ni baby? magiging hirap lang sya matulog for the day? so puwede ko mag iced tea minsan kung ganon? whew..

^Yes oatmeal is a galactagogue food :) but be wary of the sugar content baka mas madami pa ang sugar content kaysa sa oats. I prefer the unrefined oats i.e. muesli, rolled oats and the like. I have better milk output & ofcourse, pang maintenance na rin ng weight specially if gusto mo pumayat gradually kasi the unrefined ones have higher fiber content in it. HTH

sorry late response..

thank you mommies!! ♥

Breastfeeding Moms, You May Want to Make Peanuts Your Fave Snack
More and more studies are finding that early exposure to peanuts, specifically during infancy, can reduce a child’s likelihood of having a peanut allergy later on.
