Promina vs. Cerelac
« on: June 08, 2012, 12:07:43 pm »

Hello mommies, I would like to know if how many mommies are feeding their babies with PROMINA, my baby personally likes PROMINA than CERELAC because of it's sweet taste and variety of flavors. (I tasted every single flavor before serving it to my baby). Aside from the fact that PROMINA is cheaper than CERELAC.

My daughter hated promina. She ate cerelac for a few months lang kase she liked mashed food talaga. Plus, cerelac is too sweet and both have preservatives.

When my little girl was a baby, she like cerelac  alot. Kaya lang it's too sweet, Im afraid it really didnt prepare her for "real" food (read:veggies hehe). I have a 5-month old now and will start feeding him solids when he reaches six months. Still trying to find an alternative to cerelac. Would love to cook but no time eh :D

Hello mommies, thanks for answering this! :) I am now removing Promina from my son's diet little by little, we are now trying organic baby food from healthy options and I am also doing his mashed veggies, for now he likes potatoes, papaya and squash! :D I will try feeding him sayote tom! :D

Yes both promina and cerelac and even homemade food. Kinakain naman ni baby lahat. I think its good also if baby can try all kinds of food :)

ive been feeding my baby mashed food. same with ynaffitluane, i also tasted the ready made baby foods kaso ayoko sana kasi parang natatamisan ako sa mga baby food. we have a history of diabetes sa family kaya medyo nagiingat ako na masanay si baby sa pagkain ng sweets. pag naumpisahan na mahirap na kasi yan baguhin.

@trishevil and awesomemommycat

if you really want to give hoomecooked meals to your babies maybe you can cook in batches pag weekends and just freeze it in ice trays, then store in zip locks na lang. thaw na lang ng ice cube pieces every meal time.

Try to feed your baby ampalaya mix with peach..  :) sinibukan ko un sa baby ko and nagustuhan niya..kase nutritious yun kaya sinubukan ko. invest ka rin mommy sa food grinder, i use munchkin which you can buy sa baby company. :) very very useful if you want to prepare the food for your baby  :)

^^Kumakain na ng rice ang baby ko ngayon kaya mukhang ok na siya sa freshly cooked meals. As he is G6PD deficient, I can't feed him beans, amplaya, monggo and nuts..hay dami..plus Taho..bawal rin

^Ay ganun ba sis. Oo nga madaming bawal sa ganyang deficiency parang PKU.

Ako naman I don't buy Cerelac or Promina or Gerber from supermarket kasi mas gusto ko yung organic foods from Healthy Options. Hehe. At buti na lang talaga nandun mommy ko para siya gumawa ng mashed veggies/fruits for her pag may pasok ako.

^Earth's Best sis. Favorite niya yung Spaghetti with Cheese (for 9mos and older), as in may totoong spaghetti. Hehe.
