nung newborn si baby wipes din, pero kasi ang mga newborn madalas magpoops diba lalo na after feeding, nauubos agad yung wipes kahit na ginugunting ko na para makatipid. so nagswitch na lang kami to cotton and water. around 2mos, running water na pinanghugas namin sa kanya pero gumagamit parin kami ng wipes if lalabas tsaka if baby poops at night. hassle na kasi bumaba in the middle of the night to wash her bum. hehe

nung nb to around 2 months si baby wet cotton balls lang - meron akong plastic cup with cover tapos gamit ko yung regular bottled lang. i wet several dozen per day tapos gamit na niya yun daily.

problema nung marami at malaki na poop niya, had to move on to wipes  ;D pwede na din, nakatipid nung first 2 mos. 30+pesos lang yung 300pcs na cotton balls, i didn't even finish the 2nd pack.

This is a great question! Here are a few solutions:

1. use cotton and water - but this won't be enough as your baby grows

2. use the good old water and soap to wash

3. you can make your own baby wipes using toilet paper - at least toilet paper is biodegradable. You can find the recipe here: http://goo.gl/05Etl

we used wet cotton balls lang eversince---maski if opportunity permits and we're out, we still prefer to use them rather than wet wipes :)

i've noticed now that baby is getting older (he's 4 months now) he's becoming less sensitive. i've tried washing him with cold water direct from the tap and no complaints so far. i've tried cotton balls and cold water and still he hasn't cried. sometimes too when he poo, i bath him right away. that way, less wipes more tipid na ako.

hindi na ata maalis ang baby wipes sa diaper bag kaya naghahanap din ako ng alternative (pero mukhang wala) but before when my daughter was newborn, we used cotton balls and tap water to clean her bum. wipes was just for take-outs (pagnasa labas lang). that was until mag 2 months lang sya. when she was @2nd month direct na sa lababo ang hugas :) mas tipid na sa cotton balls :)

When at home you can use cotton and water instead. Yes, too much use of wet wipes may irritate your baby's skin. Cotton balls are also expensive than the ordinary ones. What I did is yung normal na cotton yung binibili ko then I make it into balls. Mas makakamura ako. Hindi naman siya ganun ka time consuming kapag gagawing balls e. ;)
