i have a two years old daughter and her accent is starting to be like her yaya's ... and she is a nice girl and really loves my baby so i don't wanna throw her out just like that because of the accent... so is there other way for my baby not to completely adopt her yaya's accent?

let me know if there are forums justlike this one...

sis  Tisa: I also have the same dilemma. We love our daughter's yaya, she's been with us since my daughter was just 3 days old. Yun nga lang, since mas madalas silang magkausap, nakukuha niya yung accent ng yaya niya. The best thing to do sis, is first, talk to your daughter more. And what I do now with my 3year old din, when she says a word na mali pagka-pronounce or may accent, correct agad. I break down the word by syllables, and then I tell my daughter how to correctly pronounce and enunciate the word. :) The earlier na maipa-alam mo sa kanya yung tama, the better. :)

Kung si yaya kasi ang tuturuan mo ng tamang pagpronunce, e medyo mahirap na baguhin ang nakasanayan, kumbaga e 'matigas na ang dila'. :D Hehe.

hi sis! magandang option yan sis ,send ur baby to a play school-madedevelop din yung social skills niya para hindi mahiyain. kaso  2-3hrs lang ang session ng mga kids --
pwedi din sis make ur baby busy by watching educational movies or dvd

kung my time si hubby mo, baka pwedi din maging hands on sa anak nio during the weekends or before before he went to work

yung anak ko ganun din, ang galing2 na magtagalog- dati englisera yun.. peru ng magin close sa yaya niya, aba matatas magtagalog at nanonood na ng telenovela
un lang pag nsa house ako ako nagbabantay-- everytime dat she mispronounce a word automatic correction agad, paulit ulit hangang makuha niya ng tama

^agree ako dito. mabils lang ma-correct ang babies.
My kid's yaya is young, 19 pa lang, but she's been with us since she was 16. Ang maganda sa kanya is nageeffort din siya talaga magenglish, and I notice na pag tinuturuan namin si baby, kinig na kinig din siya. So now when I hear na may maling grammar or pronunciation si baby na nagaya niya kay yaya, kinocorrect ko na rin pati si yaya.  :)
So my POV, tama naman na we as parents just have to make sure we talk to our learning babies more. But, if you can also correct yaya, then do so. Isipin na lang natin na hitting two birds with one stone ang drama natin :)

My husband does not like the idea of hiring a yaya who has a strong Visayan accent. How can I convince him otherwise?
