Re: What are the reasons kids loose interest in veggies?
« Reply #45 on: April 22, 2013, 06:19:10 pm »

When my kids were babies and toddlers,  ang galing nila kumain ng gulay and fruits.  Kaso,  for some reason,  na hindi ko talaga alam kung bakit,  bigla na lang ayaw kumain ng vegetables.  As in,  one bite lang tapos ayaw na!   Bakit kaya?   I have a 2 year old now and I want to make him different from his kuya na carnivorous.

My experience with my son is the same as yours.

Re: Is it ok to bribe kids to eat their veggies?
« Reply #46 on: April 22, 2013, 06:30:02 pm »

I tried bribing when my boy was younger. There were times na pumapayag siya and other times (like pag green veggies ) na ayaw niya talaga. So yun, I had to find techniques to hide the veggies :D.  Mahilig yung anak ko sa omelette, burgers, at sushi kaya pag yun ang ulam siguradong may chopped gulay.

By the way, naalala ko yung mom ko nung maliliit pa kami. Bigla na lang magda-drama at iiyak kunyari dahil ayaw namin kumain ng gulay. Sa akin effective pero sa brothers ko hindi, hahaha! :D

just want to share my experience with my son....his favorite food is pansit canton, that's why most of the time i cook pansit for him then from there i mixed different vegetables. buti na lang he never minds yung mga sahog as long as pansit yung kinakain niya. :)

My kids also don't eat much veggies.  Noon I try to force them to eat and medyo tense ang meal times when I offer them veggies, hindi na tuloy pleasurable.  But I learned from a talk from Aqiva Milk na meal times should be pleasant, no stress.  So I ask them to try a bite.  Just one bite.  If they took one bite and they like it then they can have more.  Pero kapag ayaw nila, end of conversation, at least they tried.  Through this,  my daughter discovered she likes broccoli pala:-)  and my son thinks kangkong is not that bad:-)

Get the kids used to the taste of vegetables. Get kids interested in juicing.

I have a 4year old daughter. medyo pahirapan din sa pagkain ng veggie.
she eats pumpkin and carrots with no problem, but green leafy veggie its a no no.

my motivation for her to eat pumpkin and carrot is- it would make her healthy, pretty and smart..
