Weekend with your toddler
« on: March 14, 2013, 12:39:42 am »

How do you spend your weekends with your toddler/s mga mommies?

I have a 1.5yo daughter and i'm thinking if she'd appreciate going on educational trips na like sa Manila Ocean Park or sa mga zoos. Madalas kase sa neighborhood lang/park inside the subd or sa mall lang kame (kasama ko sya sa pagcomplete errands like grocery and bills payment hehe) so gusto ko sana maiba naman para a different kind of stimulation sana kay baby kahit once every month lang sana.

Any inputs? Experiences? Things you want to share? Ideas?

My son is 2 years old and what we usually do during weekends are:

1) Stay-at-home - We might think that going out is more enjoyable with kids but actually just "quality" time with them during weekends will do. Play with them. Read books. Let them swim instead of bath time only (if you have small inflatable pool or big basin). Watch movies or cartoons together. In addition to these, my son and I are also doing some household chores together like cleaning the room or sweeping the floor. They love to help in their own little ways- like putting his toys in the basket, getting the dust pan or sweeping the floor (don't expect it's really clean though). They find it enjoyable especially if you will show them you appreciate what they are doing. And of course, you  are teaching them to become independent, too.

2) Play Centers - http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/mom-dad/parent-rated/the-5-best-play-places-in-the-metro/page/1  My son enjoys going there because of the new toys and big playroom. This is a must thing for us at least twice a month because that's his time to be with other children (my only child right now). I got to observe him how he is with other children and he's also learning how to be with other people. He is learning to share toys and to talk with them. Funny how they can understand each other with  ahh... bo... di... etc.

Kami ni hubby since we were both on restdays during weekends, we make it a point na naipapasyal namin si baby. He's 3 year old already. Most of the time we go to a mall kasi nagpa promise kami ng mag ra rides siya.

2 lang sila, isang 11mo old na baby and my daughter so medyo walang kalaro din pero kahit hinde pa sya comfortable mag explore by herself (she mostly sat beside me the entire time even when we tried to engage her with games) nung pauwi na, umiyak. ayaw umalis. i think she was just warming up.

We're planning on going back next sunday pero afternoon na, saka namin tignan kung ok siya with other kids. mahirap din kase na solo anak sya and kame lang ng lola niya ang kalaro lagi.  :-\

why not bring her somewhere she likes? talk to her, ask her, communication is very important for the two of you to enjoy weekends. hindi yung gus2 niya or gus2 mo lang.
