There are cases na may iniinom tayong gamot kaya sinasabi ng doctor na bawal magbreastfeed. pero sa dami naman ng gamot sa panahon ngayon meron ng mga gamot that are tested safe for breastfeeding moms. i have posted their list here on my blog:

look up the medications from the list. and if possible, ask the doctor for a list of medications you can take para may option kayo na pumili from the list.

about cleft palate naman, there are cases na pwede magbreastfeed and there are cases na hindi talaga pwede. you can see a lactation consultant to verify that. kung hindi talaga pwede, you can opt to pump exclusively for your baby. mas matrabaho sya since you have to pump double time to maintain your supply but i've seen it done by other mothers.

regarding pagtaba: breastfed and formula fed babies can be mataba - but breast fed babies are sik sik. normally formula fed babies are mataba even if they grow up because of the sugar content ng mga formula. kaya rin mas dna-diet nila ang mga formula fed babies to avoid obesity. while kapag breastfed, they can nurse and nurse all they want - kahit pa they are overweight na from the charts. ok lang.

payat sya compared to others na kasing age niya pero maliksi naman. 10months 7.5 kilos lang. underweight pero sabi naman ng pedia mahahabol daw un lalo na pag kumakain ng solid foods. =)

Ako naman colostrum lang nabigay ko kay baby kasi super konti ng milk ko and naawa ako kay baby kasi super iyak siya, wala kasi madede sa akin. Plan ko talaga breastfeed siya kasi nabasa ko sa net yung benefits pag breastfeeding, akala ko before madali lang basta bigay mo lang breast pero di pala. Kaya saludo ako sa mommies na nagbbreasfeeding sa anak nila. 
 
I decided mag-formula na lang after 2 days na manganak ako. So far super healthy naman si baby kahit formula, tabachingching pa rin. Once lang siya nagkaubo kasi naawa sa mga tao sa bahay namin last New Year, halos lahat kasi kami nagkasakit.
 
Sa tingin ko basta alaga lang mabuti si baby - vaccines, malinis lagi yung paligid, be very strict sa mga kumakarga kay baby, malinis lagi yung mga gamit ni baby and takes a bath everyday. Naiinis talaga ako pag yung mga matatanda nilalawayan siya para iwas usog daw, naku hinuhugasan ko agad paa ni baby. Pano pala kung may nakakahawang sakit yung "naglaway" sa kanya..

^^ ok lang yun sis. basta may weight gain every month panalo ka na. atsaka baka naman hindi kayo tabain ni hubby mo nun bata kayo kaya ganun din si baby.

^ yes, nasa tamang pag-aalaga naman yun. and if you would like to breastfeed for your next baby, arm yourself with information. marami kasing breastfeeding myths na naghihinder para maging successful ang mommies to breastfeed.

regarding laway-laway, i always have a small bottle of alcohol in the diaper bag. i use it maya't maya on baby or myselft throughout the day. pag may naglaway - pagtalikod alcohol agad! hehe!

ako dahil di talaga maglatch si baby dahil sa shape ng breast ko at nipples (laki areola ko plus inverted pa nipples ) di naman ako makahire ng lact. consultant now, and pinaformula sa hospital si baby nung nanganak ako... dahil gusto ko talaga mag bf, eto exclusively PUMPING ako hehe!! kahit mangalay na kamay ko kakapump (manual lang gamit ko eh!!) go pa din ako... so far in one day siguro 70% eh breastmilk at 30% formula ang kay baby... right now pinastop ako pedia for 3 days na breastmilk kasi jaundiced pa din si baby pero pinapastore niya sakin yung mga napump ko... so sana di magdeplete supply ko at sana di na ko magkasakit para di na ko take medication para pwede bf pa din!

'ello po.. ako naman, not allowed magbreastfeed kasi nagttake ako ng antifungal medication dahil sa spores na nagkaroon ako for more than 1 month.. masama pa nun, kung how many days na nagtake ka nung gamot, equal lang siya sa days na dapat mong hintayin bago ka makapagpadede ulet kasi yung effect nung nagsstay sa katawan and masama siya sa pregnant kaya siguro may possibility na makaapekto siya sa bfeed baby.. tinetake ko na yun for more than 2 weeks, and goodthing, may gatas pa 'ko, kaso baka maurungan na ako ng tuluyan bale, 1yr and 4 mos na siya, more than a month na akong hindi nagpapadede sa kanya pero i make sure na hindi nagbblock ang ducts ko kaso lang.... pakunti na siya ng pakunti, takot ako na baka hindi na mahintay yung 10 days na paghihintay ko bago ulet siya mapadede, sayang pa man din dahil kahit bottle fed na siya eh gusto niya pa rin dumede sakin..

Hi mga mommies! 

Buti na lang nabasa ko itong post na 'to.. In my case naman, my baby is 2 mos na pero na-bf ko siya 3 weeks lang mixed pa yun... Haaayyy...  sad talaga ako gusto ko kc mg-bf eh. At ktulad ng dillema ninyo natatakot din ako kc sabi nila sakitin daw ang baby kpg formula fed siya... Konti lang kc milk ko kahit anong pump ko dati. Kapa bf ko n si baby nun mga 1 week plng siya iyak siya ng iyak kc siguro wala siya mkuha.. Ang pagkakamali ko pa eh nag-give up na din ako sa pagbf sa kanya kahit pagpump kc super konti talaga.. And cs kc ako kaya hirap din gumalaw galaw.. Uminom n din ako ng Natalac to help increase my milk production.. Pero wala p din eh.. hmmnnn.. But Not knowing na need lang pgtiyagaan daw yun ipump or ipadede hanggang sa dumami milk.. Haaaayyyy.. Nagsisisi talaga ako ngyon.. 

Posible pa ba na magkagatas ulit ako kahit two mos n ako nakakapanganak? Paano? Hellllpppp...

yes, possible pa sya sis. as long as your baby is latching, you can still relactate. for faster results or more effective relactation, you can go to a lactation consultant. kabisado kasi nila ito. and syempre, they will advice you of the right amount of milk since you are mixed feeding. i mean, unti unti, tatanggalin ang formula until maging exclusively breastfed na your baby.

Thank you sa reply. I feel ok now knowing that i can still breastfeed my baby. Do you know any lactation consultant? Willing talaga ako mgpaconsult. I found some names thru google search but don't know who among them is the best or atleast ok.

I believe all of there are good. I haven't tried myself, but from other breastfeeding moms I know they've tried zeny feliciano. I'm not sure if she's IBCLC though. I heard she's good daw and she does breast massages. ang alam ko after one session lang lumakas ang milk niya.

pwede po ba magbf pa din if i have to take methergin and cefuroxine? duda ako sa go signal ng doctors kasi google ko may side effects? paano kaya? di pa ko nagtatake gamot tuloy kasi gusto ko talaga painom kay baby bm..

ok lang ba na mag breastfeed kung me lagnat? ubo't sipon? ang funny dati naman akong nagb BF s older kids ko pero hindi ko alam (or di ko lang maalala) hehe if puwede.. ok lang namna di ba? as long as hindi nakakahawang sakit yung meron ka
