my daughter was diagnosed with developmental language disorder predominant expressive language delay, I'm not sure if its the same with communication disorder. When she was assessed by her dev ped her expressive language was really delayed however her receptive language (ability to understand) was advance naman for her age. She started her OT and Speech Therapy when she was 18 months old, and once a week kasali siya sa toddler class sa regular school for socialization. she's 2.7 years old now and she has been recently mainstreamed although she still has speech therapy and her OT will be remove by june. I still enrolled her for OT this summer to improve her writing skills as preparation for her regular class by june. Madaming words na siyang nasasabi ngayon but hirap pa din siya sa pag construct ng sentences. Minsan may sinasabi siya na napakahaba but hindi ko maintindihan but sometimes I can understand naman some of the words. She has difficulty pronouncing letter l and u, though im not sure if its still acceptable since she's only 2. she loves to sing nursery rhymes and reading her books but ang hirap intindihin ng sinasabi niya. Your son is still very young you can enroll him for speech therapy or sa toddler class to improve his communication skills.

hi sis nicole03

My daughter (1.5 yo) was diagnosed also of having a DLD (expressive). I was advised also by her dev pedia to have her undergo OT. Ask ko lang sana kung san nag-enroll yung daughter mo. Currently kasi naghahanap palang ako ng therapy center.

@darna88
sis try mo kaya muna ienroll son mo sa summer class kasi with my daughter i noticed dumami ang words na nasasabi niya when i enrolled her sa toddler class kahit once a week lang siya dun kasi madami siyang kasamang bata kaya madami din siya napipickup na words then yung ibang kid kinakausap ko din siya, para din hindi mabigla son mo once magstart na siya sa regular school

@leelai
sis same tau daughter ko din nasa around 10-12 months level ng expressive language niya when she was assessed but the rest puro advance naman, sis san area ka po im from batangas poh kasi eh, my daughter din nag OT then after one month nag speech therapy na din siya with once a week toddler class, dapat stop na OT niya but inenroll ko pa din this summer to improve her writing,

Mommies anong sign ang napansin nyo sa baby nyong may expressive delay? Mag 18 months na rin kasi baby ko this month pero hindi pa rin sya nakakapag sabi ng mommy and daddy. Wala pa rin syang clear word kahit "no" . Everything is fine naman except yun lang talaga. Madaldal pero wala pa kaming naiintindihan. She expresses what she wants by shoving us to things and pointing. Advance thanks sa sasagot.

hi, if you're still interested, you can try help Therapy Center in Santiago, Makati City. Their contact no. is 896-5195. My 3-yr old son goes there for his speech therapy.
