Hi,

Can anyone pls recommend a pedia dentist? My son is 5 yrs old w/ Autism. We have never been to a dentist before & I want  it to be not traumatic for him. Recently nga lang niya natolerate mgpagupit. Before he would always sit on my lap & cry the whole time. But now he can sit by himself on the barber's chair. But it took 2 yrs for him to be able to tolerate it.

Hope u fellow mommies with kids with special needs can help me. Thank u & hope to get your replies soon.

My son is now 12 years old (he has mild ASD).  I bought him to DES dental clinic in SM Manila when he was around 5 or 6 years old.  He had lots of cavities and needs a full work on (needs a lot of fillings, silver capping for his temporary teeth after fillings, etc).

We informed the dentist, at that time was, Dra. Veron, about his condition.  She did not see any problems in accepting him for treatment.  But since it needs lots of working on and he needs to sit still for a long period of time, he was sedated by an anesthesiologist.  We had the session scheduled during a date when the anesthesiologist is free.  It cost us 20K for everything.

Dra. Veron is no longer connected to DES SM Manila.  The last I heard was that she transferred to SM North Edsa...

Until this day, we still go to DES SM Manila for his semi-annual cleaning... my son is already used to it that he can already sit still, even if iba na ang dentista niya, we also bring with us his 2 siblings for regular check ups...  the secretary Ms. Ellen and also the current dentist (I forgot his name) is very accommodating naman...

You can go to any Metro Dental Clinics, mostly located to any SM or Ayala malls. Yun nga lang need magpa-appointment. Or GAOC in Trinoma and look for Dr. April. She's a good pedia dentist. Yun nga lang if sa evaluation, hindi cooperative ang son mo, she might advise na i-sedate si baby. You can google for the contact numbers of the said clinics

Our dentist naman sa Pediatric Dentist Center of the Philippines sa may Banawe Q Ave.,  look Dr Galvan Secretary's name is Dahlia, land line number is 811 1859...she's good, kahit un authistic na nephew ko, napap upo niya sa dentist chair for check up.
