Hi mommies. Would you know of any good school that offers Sped in Las Pinas/Alabang area? I have a 4 y/o son diagnosed with ASD. He is currently enrolled this year, but sadly his school will abolish na the Sped program due to Dep Ed's new regulations. Like pa naman ng son ko ang school niya :( Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!! :)

Good Day! As early as now, I have been scouting for schools for my 4 year old and 7 year old child within Las Pinas. Since I am from Moonwalk Village, we decided to check out Mary of Peace
( learner's avenue)just near the friendship route along Abel Nosce in BF Resort because it looked small and has this family oriented atmosphere plus tuition , I was told is kinda' on the low side.
When I got there, no one was still available to talk to me because I was really early.( They open at 8am but was accommodated when I got there at 7:30am). While waiting, students started coming in together with the teachers.
The students were all cute and some spoke in straight English which caught my attention. I also noticed kids that were on the HYPER side. After a few minutes, the owner ( I think) came with a great greeting for everyone. She asked one of the teachers to attend to me right away and answer all my queries while OBSERVING her ( she did not know this though). There was one student who was just like my incoming grade 1 child. In my assessment, the boy has ADHD. He was all over the place until the owner called out his name. With a big voice, she asked him to please go to his classroom and wait for the teacher who was also with me at that time. The boy was reasoning out but she immediately gave him a hug and while rubbing his back requested (this time in a soft tone) for him to follow. He gave her a look and smiled and said OK. TEACHER. SORRY I DID NOT LISTEN. and gave her a hug back. This alone made me ask about their programs and SPED class which was really limited depending on the gravity of the child's needs. I feel that this school should be commended. Unlike other schools, I did see for myself how REGULAR NURSERY KIDS were READING! Yes at 3 to 4 years I heard them reading sight words on the wall with the same teacher who dealt with the special boy. I have friends who enrolled in this school and I too will enroll my kids. NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR TUITION FEE which is so affordable but because of their advocacy and genuine love for children. Kudos M.O.P.S -This is indeed a learner's avenue ;)I hope that this is helpful. Will be posting more about this school after my sit in with them.

Our son goes to Anima Christie inside san jose village alabang - its the one across Town Center. Its a SPED center and has a very low enrolees for kids <7 yrs or age. The school facility is not ideal but the progress our son had with them was quite good. He is diagnosed with ASD and is non-verbal.

Hi Mommies, do you have a list or know a certified SPED school in Las Pinas? kasi po yung nakita naming school, sabi nila SPED daw sila and we came to know na parang siningit lang nila SPED sa curriculum nila at hindi pa sila certified to offer.....

Hi Mommy,
SPED certified school means school with DepEd permit. for SPED program.   You are right.  There are schools accepting special kids but do not have permit to operate SPED  program.  Thank you.  :)

Hi Mommy logicgestalt.
Praying and hoping makahanap kami ng school where my son could fit in.  TIA!

Hi Mommy Rain

Politely ask for their DepEd permit for SPED when you inquire to any school.    Its a piece of document but very important for your kid's sake.  I only know few SPED schools but in Alabang area (Anima Christie, Optimal Academy). All the best to your child.     God bless!
