We all know the evil of pornography and more so if the children are the victims. There is a pending bill in the Senate against this evil and its advocates has put up an online petition to Pass the Anti-Child Pornography Act Now!

While at it you may also want to read Porno Surfing At Cafés written by my husband. You can post your comments or even ask how to put anti-porno software in your own personal computers. The situations prevailing nowadays are so serious that all parents must do something to protect our children.

anti-porn softwares block some sites that doesn't even contain porn; HOW I HATE THOSE THINGS!

concerning children - \they're not dumb as rocks; they know exactly what they're doing. Plus, the more signs of distrust you give off (say, an anti-porn software/site blocker etc.) will only make them more curious or be motivated to find ways to disobey.

Believe me I know >w>

Just explain things to them; and if they do come across a certain site, then you might as well explain sex ed or something - at least they won't be so naive, gullible and easy to prey on.

We studied this issue further and there is one objectionable provision in the proposed law, the filtering or blocking of sites by the Internet Service Providers. This is objectionable because it is tantamount to violation of the freedom of choice and could also result to intrusion to privacy.

You can find the details regarding the objectionable provision of the proposed Anti-Child Pornography Law at http://xicowner.jefmart.com/index.php/2009/07/07/the-proposed-anti-child-pornography-act/.

There is really no way teens can be "protected" online or offline for that matter. The teen years are the time that the child discovers his/her sexuality. This is why sex education should start as early as possible. No amount of filtering, limiting, etc. can prevent a teen from seeing pornography. It's everywhere, and it is inevitable that they will get their hands on it. The only way to "protect" a teen is to educate them as best as one can and hope that they do the right thing. That's all a parent can really do. There is a saying "nasa Dyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa". Applying this to the parental role, you do your job as a parent and God will do the rest. You cannot force your ideals on your children if they don't want it. The more a parent does that the more the child will resent them for it.

college student po ako and I want to learn more about the views of parents in regards to this matter.

this is my interview spreadsheet.

Hi to all moms here. I noticed puro mga nakaka-worry yung mga posts dito. I just want to share that there are also good things about Teens and the Internet.

You see, my dalaga is close to me pero medyo shy sya sa daddy. Since Father's day last Sunday, nagsend lang kami ng family picture na may message sa husband ko since he works abroad. But I was shocked to find out that my daughter did something else, too. Yun pala, ibang video from YouTube daw... So, you see, meron ding mabuting nakukuha ang mga teens sa internet. ;)

^ I think it's normal for moms to worry about what's exposed to their children online. I mean, don't you? Kaya siguro puro medyo nakaka-alarm at nakaka-worry. Pero I see your point naman...

I just got married and I want to have my own kids soon. :) May I know what video it was? Hehe. Right now, I'm trying to make my husband realize how fun it is to have kids. Medyo serious pa kasi sya sa pag-iipon. Gusto ko lang ipaalam na kanya na it's good to have your own family rin. Not just a loving wife hehe) but also loving kids.

I worry too. Pero siguro kasi I've already told my children about what sites they shouldn't log on to. And, before my husband left abroad for work, he made sure that the security settings were controlled so that pop-up porn sites and other viruses wouldn't appear anymore.

Ha ha ha. Sis! I also felt that way when I first got married.  Excited ako to have kids. He he. Dahil dyan, I'll help you!
her and daughter relationships. :D

^ Ahh. Kaya pala. You've already taken care of internet security... Siguro nga yun talaga dapat ang kailangan.

Do you know any specific videos? Hehe. So far may iilan na akong nakita. Gusto ko yung mga may kinalaman sa fathers day kasi feeling ko he'll be most affected when I show him that kind of video. ;D

He he. Oo nga, napalayo na. Pero sure thing, I'll join that topic once you start it. :)

Hmm, just want to add (para na rin we're still on topic)... I set a specific time lang for when my kids can use the internet. For example, pagdating galing school, 5-630 lang pwede mag-internet and only if there's something they need to research for school. Pero schooldays yan. Iba rin pag weekend. :)

Just protect your children from unnecessary websites on the internet by blocking those unwanted sites. I think may options naman for that on your browser and also yung mismong computer/laptop...? Google search! hehe.  ;D
