Sa Luzon Development Bank po merun pambata na account. P100 lang. Mas mataas ang interes nila kesa mas sikat na bangko. Sa mga class na bangko .25% lang ang interes. Sa LDB 1% kahit P100 lang pera ng bata.

To Mommy Maryjoie, depende sis kung ano initial na idedeposit mo.
Some offers as low as 100.00, your kids can open a bank account. I read that BPI has several freebies for the kids kapag sa kanila ka nag open bank account. Mataas naman ang interest kapag optimum savings ng BDO ang iopen mo.  Ok din ang time deposit ng halos lahat ng banks kasi nkadepende sa market trends, strict lang sila sa maturity date.

I find it practical to open  a kiddie account at small banks. Kung interes rates lang ang paguusapan, they give more. Popular banks give only .25% pero may freebies. There's this fear naman na mataas nga ang rate ng small banks pero baka hindi stable. On the other hand, magsara man, insured pa rin deposit niya, hindi naman siguro kami aabot sa higit P500K (I wish). Big or small bank, I still get to teach him the value of savings.

my daughter has an account with bdo, but since minimal lang talaga ang interest sa bank, i've decided to also get her mutual funds sa sunlife.

Of the many banks I compared, pansin ko na kapag mas maliit at hindi popular ang bangko, mas mataas ang interest. They have ordinary accounts na pwede sa bata like passbook account. Hindi kasing stable ng big banks ang mga rural banks and small banks, pero kung hindi naman malaki ang savings, hindi naman malaki ang risk na doon mag impok para sa bata.
