Nung una grabe rashes niya nung newborn sya, we were using j&j products that time. I discontinued it and used cetaphil cleanser and lotion na. I also used petroleum jelly sa mga singit and nawala din agad. We use diaper cream, brand is secura. We tried mothercare but nagkaallergy sya. Back to secura.

yung cradle cap, i just used petroluem jelly before giving her bath then pagwash ng hair scrub gently para matanggal yung loose flakes. After bath, gentle wipe sa head to dry then apply petroleum jelly again. Nawala agad. Importante hindi ipwersa.

For newborns, advise ng pedia namin was hormonal ang cause ng rashes and cradle cap. Mawawala ng kusa so we were not given any steroid cream.

Then nung 6mos na si baby dun lumabas yung eczema niya. We were given steroid cream but we only use very sparingly and up to 7 days lang na continuous use kasi hindi pwede long term use ang steroids.

When we consulted a derma, advise niya is to keep skin moisturized, double moisturize daw. So for bath we use cetaphil cleanser, then rinse, then oil bath (dermaveen bath oil ang gamit namin), then rinse. Pat with towel to dry, not rub. Then cetaphil lotion, then we have euceryn aquaphor ointment - parang petroleum jelly but made for eczema prone skin. During eczema attacks, we use dermaveen lotion sa parts na meron, plus elica. Nawawala na agad in 1-2 days.

Dermaveen eczema creams and baths were really effective for us, plus the cetaphil.

Allergologist - Immunologist deal with allergies and immunologic issues of the whole body while dermatologists deal with diseases of the skin.

mura lang din singil niya sa amin 400 sa mga first time and 300 na sa susunod na check up. She's located in makati, meron din siya sa healthway greenbelt 5 & robinson manila (di ko lang alam price niya doon). lahat talaga explaine niya, highly recommended, kung may tanong ka sinasagot lahat, kahit pa matagal ok lang

mga mommies, napapraning na ko, SUPER DUPER SELAN ko na sa baby ko, pera asar lang na atopic dermatitis yan.. though i'm not losing hope. but i really want na kuminis na baby ko at mabawasan na gastos. nakakapamulubi na e. huhu

1st newborn
(all organic/natural) burt's bees lahat. oil, diaper ointment, lotion, shampoo and body wash. elica cream for rashes
she got cradle cap and chicken skin and rashes sa face. sabi allergic daw sa pawis.wag daw hayaan pagpawisan. (24/7 naka aircon si baby , pano ngyari yun?!)

2nd attempt
- physiogel cleanser, physiogel AI cream, burt's bees diaper ointment

4th attempt and hopefully the last.

we went to an allergologist sa Med City. Dra. Cuajunco,. We found out she has Seborrheic and Atopic Dermatitis, Uber/Ultra/Mega Sensitive pala skin ng baby ko. And it helped us a lot.ok na ok na si blair wag lang maiinitan.

Scalpex Shampoo for the Cradle Cap / Seborrhea - nung nawala na . Lactacyd Shampoo for Maintenance.
Cultivate Ointment on rashes if she will have again,, pag malala lang - Hydrocortizone for maintenance pag reddish na
Cetaphil Restoraderm Body Wash - Highly Recommended
Cetaphil Restoraderm Body Lotion - Apply 3x a day.
Burt's Bees or Zinc Oxide or Desitin as Diaper Ointments.
Mamy Poko for Diaper
SM Baby Company for wipes. pero mas ok daw kung water and cotton na lang.
Wilkins Distilled Water pampaligo

@casperthegoat: what's the name of your allergo-immunologist? May clinic kaya sya sa Quezon City or nearby?

Try Elica Cream. Always keep it clean and moisturize.  Medyo itchy yan kaya kakamutin niya yan ng kakamutin tapos magsusugat.  Change  mo rin yun soap - Dove unscented is good.

^ I agree. Cetaphil is my choice. Also, sometimes we use Petroleum jelly as a moisturizer

My daughter has skin allergies.  Lahat nasubukan ko na - Cetaphil Restoderm (cost around P600++), Oilatum Soap,  Lactacyd Baby Bath, etc. still same itchiness, redness, scaling minsan nagsusugat na sa kakakamot.  Lahat din ng cream/oilment with or without steroid, mura at mahal pati consultation kahit mahal na dermatologist pinutahan na rin namin still nothihg is working at sobrang magastos na.

MAINTENANCE:  Petroleum Jelly is highly recommended.
Use it after bath as in basa pa si baby lagyan mo na agad tapos pat it try (never rub) so that the skin will absorb it.

Soap:  Dove (for moisturizing - green box) make sure its unscented

Cream:  Elica will be fine pero kung medyo malala na consult your pedia for cream/ointment with steroid (minsan kelangan talaga natin gumamit ng with steroid - not for prolong use)

@Momkate - agapan mo habang maaga kasi mahirap pagkinalakihan niya yan.   Been there and it not that easy. Meron na rin ganyan ang 10 years old son ko.

My son had it mga last month. He was prescribed lamisil ointment, tapos soap niya either dove unscented or ivory( or kahit na ano bsta hypoallergenic n mild). For 2 weeks, 2x a day. Nag ok naman, pro may chance talaga na bumalik.. Lagyan mo na lang uli :)
