My daughter has skin allergies.  Lahat nasubukan ko na - Cetaphil Restoderm (cost around P600++), Oilatum Soap,  Lactacyd Baby Bath, etc. still same itchiness, redness, scaling minsan nagsusugat na sa kakakamot.  Lahat din ng cream/oilment with or without steroid, mura at mahal pati consultation kahit mahal na dermatologist pinutahan na rin namin still nothihg is working at sobrang magastos na.

MAINTENANCE:  Petroleum Jelly is highly recommended.
Use it after bath as in basa pa si baby lagyan mo na agad tapos pat it try (never rub) so that the skin will absorb it.

Soap:  Dove (for moisturizing - green box) make sure its unscented

Cream:  Elica will be fine pero kung medyo malala na consult your pedia for cream/ointment with steroid (minsan kelangan talaga natin gumamit ng with steroid - not for prolong use)

@Momkate - agapan mo habang maaga kasi mahirap pagkinalakihan niya yan.   Been there and it not that easy. Meron na rin ganyan ang 10 years old son ko.

Sis, my eldest daughter , 10yrs old has mild  psoriasis, derma told me very similar to eczema daw sya. have tried diffrent kinds of creams, cutivate, mosone, cleovate , physiogel, elica lotion for scalp at iba pa. hiyangan din ang gamot and you';re right sis, skin must ne kept hydrated if not dun nagsisimula ang pangangati sa dry skin. But I got so worried sis coz our family friend whose a doctor told me never to use steroidal cream for a prolonged period of time as it may cause renal problems later on. I will start using it next week pa.

Mga sissies baka meron kayo alam na natural / home remedies for this skin infections please share it here so that other people may benefit from it too. TIA.

I've been using Dermovate ointment...for children this should be used for not more than 5 days and apply thinly sa affected area...May eczema ako since HS and pabalik balik sya especially if stress.. until now bumabalik sya pag na stress ako pero unlike in HS na halos malaking portion ng legs ang sakop now parang kumakapal lang and kasing size lang ng kagat ng lamok...

Kinakabahan kasi ako sa son ko kasi my hubby has psoriasis, e di ba hereditary yan? Last month lang may some sort of eczema sya.

Minsan wala tayong choice but to follow our doctor's instructions like the use of cream with steroid or other cream just to heal your child's skin then after nun maintenance na lang. About renal problems with prolong use of cream with steroid, ganito yan. So we need to avoid the child from having skin infections by using prescribed creams.

So far with my daughter mukhang ok na siya.  Patience lang.  Petroleum Jelly really works at mura pa.

Don't use oil kasi mainit sa balat yan.   Mild (Unscented) Soap and Lotion (for baby like Aveeno) will do some magic to your child's skin.

Hi Sis, wala naman sya symptoms other than meron namumula sa skin ng daughter ko, at first very few lang na red marks, then later on pati sa scalp niya ngkaroon na rin, ilang visit din namin sa derma bago sya na diagnose na psoriasis talaga, we even had a second opinion kase hindi ako makapaniwala at first. Yes sis, hereditary sya, that was the first question ni derma if we have relatives na meron nyan, for my case i really didnt know anybody in my family nor my husband's family na meron nyan.

@mworx: thanks for sharing mommy! Iba din explanation ng doctor regarding how do those creams affects our kidney's, she expalined it to me thoroughly kase meron history sa fahter side ng daughter ko about kidneys problem kaya talagang she stressed it out to me.

Regarding her skin naman, for my daughter's scalp pure mineral oil , sa body naman niya physiogel or cetaphil restoraderm ang nirecommend ng derma for maintenance. Kaya lang sis hindi talaga maiiwasan na paminsan-minsan meron talaga lumalabas na lessions so need ko pa rin cream kaya nga this time i'l try the organic ones.

@ momma 33

hi sis! pinacheck naman namin, sabi ng doctor di naman daw psoriasis yung kanya.. how does your daughter handle her situation? di naman sya nacoconscious or nahihiya? nakakababa kasi ng self esteem ang condition na yan, especially i've seen it with my hubby. yung sa kanya nga matanda na sya nagkaroon pero ang laki din ng effect sa kanya. sa hubby ko almost all of his body meron kaya nacoconscious talaga sya. minsan di sya makashorts kasi meron sa binti niya  :P sa daughter mo mild lang naman ata, at least medyo ok pa :)

@Twix: how old po ba anak nyo sis? glad to know na hindi psoriasis ang sa baby mo. Anyway my little girl's diagnosis was pityriasis rosea but turned out to be psoriasis pala talaga.

Always remind him/her sis na she is always beautiful/handsome kahit meron sya marks sa skin because real beauty is measured not only by his/her physical aspect but as what she/he is to others.

Dami na niya ginamit, from tar, clobetasol, to mga mangosteen juice.. Nung una hindi pa namin alam kaya lagi yang flare up nun, pati too much sun, yung sobrang init bawal sa kanya.

Niresetahan sya ngayon ng Daivobet Ointment, ouchy sis, Php 2,025 per tube sa mercury but I have no choice gusto ko omokey ang skin ng anak ko and besides derma told me that this is a safer ointment to use.

It works like magic as in less than a week okay na.

In just 3-4 days magaling na.  I highly recommend the ointment.

And also mga mommies, as for the soap, sobrang mahal ang Cetaphil Restoraderm.  DOVE UNSCENTED lang okay na.  Its better to use mild soap over any other medicated or scented or anti-bacterial soap.  Its the proper wash (soap, rubbing, rinsing and drying) that will do the trick not the soap.

SOAP - mild soap
RUBBING - make a lather
RINSING - warm water
DRYING - use paper towel instead of air drying, cloth towel
