Hello po. Im a newbie in this group. Itatanong ko lang po kung considered solo parent if separated since Oct 2012 pero hindi pa po legally separated. Di pa po kasi afford magfile ng annullment eh.  No communication or I dont want to communicate with him or kahit sa relatives niya. Paano po mapo-proved na abandoned nga in 1 year? Thank you po.

Hello po. Im a newbie in this group. Tatanong ko lang po kung considered solo parent if separated since oct 2012 and no communication and I dont want to communicate since then. Kahit sa mga relatives niya wala din ako communication.  Paan po kaya mapo-proved yun? I just read about the solo parent act yesterday. I have 2 kids po the eldest is a special child. Malaking tulong po kasi ito sa akin kung makakakuha ako ng id, kaya lang ang worry ko hindi kami legally separated. Wala pa pong budget pang file ng annullment. Thanks po.

Hi mommy rhea04ts!

You can file for a Solo Parent ID even if you are not annulled or legally separated please refer to  (7) Parent left solo or alone with the responsibility of parenthood due to abandonment of spouse for at least one (1) year;

Depende kung saan ka nakatira merong CI, sa Dasmarinas, Cavite kasi walang CI as long as you have a copy of your children's birth certificate and baranggay certificate indicating you are a single mom and does not have a boyfriend or a partner. Agad kang bibigyan ng ID after interview which is valid for three years but you have to renew it every year by presenting the same set of documents.

You also said na special child ang isa sa mga anak mo, he/she can apply for a PWD ID sa DSWD for additional benefits. http://www.mb.com.ph/know-your-pwd-rights-and-privileges/

I hope that this info helps.

"Section 9. Educational Benefits. - The DECS, CHED and TESDA shall provide the following benefits and privileges:

(1) Scholarship programs for qualified solo parents and their children in institutions of basic, tertiary and technical/skills education;"

Hi, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.  I'm also a single mom, with the same case as rhea04ts, separated but not annulled yet.  I have a little girl also who I want to send to school this coming June.  I just read that there are educational benefits for children of single moms, just like the one I quoted before this post.

I'm wondering how I can make use of the DECS, CHED and TESDA to provide the scholarship programs for my little girl.  Do I go to those offices mismo?

Again, many thanks for the one who will give a reply.

Have a nice day!

mga sis check with dswd kung anong educational program they an offer.
normally they wud refer you to the nearest public school sa area niyo.
if you opt naman to go sa private school hindi na siya kasama sa program ng dswd
