My son is 4yrs old now. First diagnosis was when I have him checked he's 2yrs old then was speech language delay the result is still the same even in every follow up check ups (every 6months) until he reached nga 4yrs old the new diagnonosis was un nga gdd na hindi kc sya ngprogress masyado. I ask the doctor if ever n hindi siya magprogress pa what will happen she said na next sa gdd if hindi nahabol yung developmental gap suited for his age the diagnosis will be mental retardation na.  It's heartbreaking for almost 3yrs therapy kami pra maihabol sya pra sa age frame niya parang nwala.  Kakastart lang namin s new therapy center niya since we moved we started there last april lang pero pra skn lang hnd ganun ka-experienced yung therapist dun. I planned to move him sana kaso nanghinayang din ako kc tong therapy niya ngayon walking distance lang sa place namin...

Hello mga mommies! I would just like to share an update on my daughter's development. Last feb, she was diagnosed with GDD as i posted before. We started her therapy last March. Then 5 mos. after (2 days ago), we had our 2nd dev pedia visit. Super saya namin coz she was now diagnosed as sub average na! Di na sya delayed! Though di pa din sya masyado nkakapagsalita just like toddlers her age (she's turning 3 by end of sept), nsa 2.5 na speech niya and performance niya is at 3.5 yo na! Super happy talaga namin kasi all our efforts paid off esp. yung effort ng daddy niya to bring her sa therapy center for OT and follow up sa bahay. Yun tingin ko yung pinaka impt. Sbi nga 1 hr lang sya sa therapy pero yung stay niya sa bahay ang mas matagal. Every night na wala sya therapy sa day may session sila daddy niya. We bought educational toys like puzzles tpos we consulted her OT din kung anung mga toys dapat. Ang bilis talaga improvement niya. Syempre basic din talaga na magaling talaga OT niya kasi yun yung nag eatablish ng discipline niya then follow through after. Nung una nga after our 1st check up nalungkot kami kasi sbi nga di daw guaranteed na mkakahabol pag may GDD but we faced the challenge. Sbi namin nandyan n yan so might as well do everything we can. So ayan na nga. I would like to give hope to all the parents out there na meron talaga nkakacope up from GDD state...basta tyaga lang talaga and sacrifice.

Hi! My daughter's case is GDD. She was diagnosed at the age of 6-7 mos old....that was 2014. The pedia referred us to a neurologist and the doctor confirmed that she is having GDD. We were then asked to see an Occupational Therapist to assist us for her developments. At the age of 1, she was able to sit on her own and started to crawl. At the age of 2, she were able to walk already but her balance is not so stable yet. We're still trying to work it out. Maybe by the age of 3, she will start her speech therapy. Feel free to share your story here :-)

Hello karen, my 4 yo son is at the redmark of GDD,  as assessed by his neuro dev, after nyang mastroke and maparalyzed because of tb meningitis last 2014,at ist few months of physical theraphy tsaka palang sya narefer sa OT at balance din ang naging problem niya but after 1 yr  naging ok na paglalakad niya at madalang ng madapa, what i did was to have a home program wherein ginagaya ko lahat ng activities nila ng OT niya on the days na wala syang theraphy,i also made my own balance beam and bought gym ball para mapractice sya.😊

Hi Everyone!

I have a son assessed with Global Developmental Delay.  He has a delay in speech and cognitive skill.  As a mother I am so worry when he can cope up.  For the meantime he was suggested to have Speech Therapy 2x a week and Occupational Therapy 2x a week.  At the same time suggested to have a SPED tutorial though he is in normal school.

Does anyone of you has the same case?
Would be glad if you can share your insights:)
