This is my first post, so I hope i'am doing this correctly. So here is a quick run-down. My wife and I are both 32 years old. About 4 years ago, her mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Then 3 years ago her father past away suddenly leaving behind a 12 year old girl. My wife and I obviously took her in cause that's her sister, and we love her. We have had her for 3 years now she is sixteen, and is overall a really good kid. Unfortunately she treats me like a doormat, and obviously resents me for taking over the parenting role. If she had her way she would want me to pay for everything, give her a home, be her taxi, and shut my mouth. Don't talk to her about how school is going, don't encourage her to think big, and go to college and live her dreams. And absolutely don't tell her what to do in any way. It is beginning to really wear me down, I give her all my love and support, and do absolutely everything for her, but being treated this way is just wrong. Any advice or help from anyone whose been there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot
