my iza has just recovered from dengue.  we were never confined, but we had her platelet monitor every 12 hours.  we just bring her to the laboratory for testing.

symptoms for dengue vary.  some have rashes, some don't.  some have high fever, some low grade.  good thing for us, iza's rashes came out hours after her fever stopped.   and as a precautionary measure, hubby brought her to the lab for dengue NS1 test.  there we found out that she is positive with dengue.

we were advised by our pedia to watch out for bleeding, tummy ache, and weakness.
we had a 3-day intensive hydration. in 2 days, my 3-year-old was able to drink 7 bottles of blue gatorade, about 20 yakults, and liters and liters of water.  good thing, her platelet kept on rising.  and if she'd refuse to drink, we use the dropper to make her drink while she's busy playing.

Hey Mariann, and all you others who have recovered I'm happy for you!

Dengue is a real bummer.  We just cleaned up our yard AGAIN, and tomorrow, my wife is having me discard everything I don't need outside, even my old tools :(  in case they gather up water...or cause a mess.  You women REALLY hate mess! ;D

Keep up the effort and constantly remind friends and family to be vigilant!  Stay safe!

My baby has had on and off fever for days, and come early this morning, he complained of severe headache. i really don't know what's wrong and i am just paranoid with his on and off fever. he doesn't have a fever now, still, for my peace of mind, i'd rather have him tested at the laboratory. we went there earlier, but they couldn't get his urine kasi di maihi, so balik na lang sila nina mommy ko and yaya later.

i really hope it's nothing. sana the previous fever, are just like that, isolated cases and cured itself. yung headache, i really hope it was just an exaggeration, but i'm concerned, kasi umiyak sya sa sakit eh and he whimpered beside me in bed.

i really hope it's nothing.  :(

praying for your baby sis funnyarte... Paminsan kahit anong protection gawin natin, mga babies pa rin ang tinatamaan ng sakit...
Sis, meron na pang test ngayon ng virus strain ng dengue. Ang titingnan hindi platelets.yung virus mismo.like what happened sa neighbor namin.dry lower lips,on and off fever, tummy ache..sinuggest namin to have this test.+dengue, 5 days na yung virus pero ang platelet niya mataas pa din. Kahit papaano naagapan.fyi lang.
God bless.

Thanks mga sis. The results for the dengue test is to be released on friday pa, ang tagal naman nun? But my pedia-sister told me based on his cbc results that I will expect a negative dengue result. Still, i'll post it here. I'm still not relieved. Only comforted.

haay naku, kahit naman nung may fever sya, makulit pa rin sya, that's why my other pedia is never convinced that he has dengue....kaya lang, pag on and off fever, kakatakot na kasi eh.

mga sis. nagwoworry ako sa baby ko. 5days ago kasi dinala siya ng byenan ko sa tita niya. then pinaliguan nila dun si baby kaya nawala yung repellent sa skin niya. paguwi dito house ang dami kagat ng lamok sa bandang legs. tpos ngaun may lagnat siya pro low grade lang naman. after niya makainom ng paracetamol nagsubside yung lagnat niya sa 37.3 or 37.1 then minutes before niya uminom ng gamot ulit tumataas nanaman yung lagnat niya sa 38. nagyon wala na siya lagnat at nagpapawis na. scared ako ngayon because of mosquito bites niya nga 5days ago. i hope hindi to serious. :(
