I require my baby's nanny to iron her clothes (until now that my baby's almost 8 months old na). What I ask her is to iron baby's clothes inside out - more attention on the inner parts of the clothes to kill kung ano pang germs or insects na kumapit or gumapang, yung outer more of aesthetics na lang para presentable ang clothes.

I use Perla (original) for babies clothes. The new brands Cycles or Cradle are ok but it's too pricey considering that baby's clothes aren't very dirty. I spend more on diapers than laundry soap - so naavoid ang leakage (aside from other benefits of good diapers)

ako din i iron my babys clothes kahit 4 mos na si baby..pero i only use perla..but have never tried downy antibac..safe ba to mga mommies kahit sa 4 mos baby lang? medyo sensitive kasi balat ni baby..prone sa rashes..kaya nga perla ginagamit ko laundry soap kasi nga para mild..although wala nga lang amoy damit ni baby..gusto ko nga sana itry din sa babys clothes ko pero natatakot ako..kasi sa clothes namen ni ate (yung panganay ko) palagi ring ko rin ginagamitan downy antibac kasi nga tama mga mommies dito bukod sa mabango kahit d naarawan parang pansin ko nga ok sya sa mosquitoes..

@two time single mom:

my baby's pedia, who's a pulmo specialist says that we should avoid anything harsh for our babies - anything from scented items to even using baby powder. more than sensitive skin, our baby's lungs/respiratory is very very sensitive. i'm even advised not to wear a lot perfume (better kung wala talaga) when i'm carrying baby kase she might inhale the fumes. in the house we even use organic air sprays.

anyway, i suggest better stick to perla lang, don't use fabric conditioner muna. keep baby away na lang from places na possibly infested with mosquitoes. (put pots of oregano or nym tree around the house to drive away mosquitoes - pwede mo rin pakuluan yung oregano or nym tree leaves and yun ang pang spray mo instead of insecticide)

I don't used to ironing my baby's clothes. Ngayon lang ko naging aware na kailangan pala plantsahin yung clothes nila. But I used Cycles as a laundry detergent and Del (hypo-allergenic) as fabric conditioner. Hindi ko din linalabas ng bahay para patuyuin yung mga damit niya kasi i'm afraid na baka madapuan nga ng kung ano anong insecto and syempre polluted sa labas so for sure madidikit din sa damit niya yung dumi ng hangin. What I do is patuyuin sa loob ng house after dry spin yung damit niya.

my son is 5 month's old, since NB siya we use cycles as laundry detergent and ironed all his clothes (pambahay and pang-alis) and linens. we ironed it to make sure na it's sterile - to kill off bacteria and to make sure na patay yung langgam if ever na meron man.
