Iba iba ang techniques natin but there is only one goal and that is to help and encourage our children to love schooling :)

Yes, mommies, you're all right, mas maswerte talaga ang mga bata ngayon, mas alam na natin ang value of studying kasama ang parents :)

Ako rin, may assignments man sila o wala, may quiz man the next day day or wala, review lang kami araw-araw, at least an hour a day. Pang-umaga ang daughter ko, so after school, kain muna then nood sya ng tv until 1:30 pm then rest, she can play or sleep, she can do what she wants then at around 4, gawa na kami ng assignments (kung meron) and review. Usually, advance lesson ang ginagawa namin so mas okay kasi mas nasasagutan niya ng mas madali yung mga quiz and workbook nila. Kapag may mga long quizzes naman sila, yun review lang kami. Hindi toxic. Monday to Friday and Sunday ang review namin. Kapag Saturday, play day niya. If she wants to read on a Saturday, then good if not, fine :).

We have the same technique, mommy Bella swan :) araw-araw ke me quiz/exam o wala, pinapapag-aral ko talaga sya so madali na lang ang review pag ganitong quarterly exams na. Yun nga lang, since malayo house namin sa office, usually mga 6:30 na ko nakakauwi so un pa lang din yung time na nakakapag start kami ng serious study, kc kahit sinasabihan ko syang gawin na agad assignments niya pag gising niya from her afternoon nap kahit wala pa ako e Hindi pa sya ganun ka-mature (she's only in grade one) kaya mas madalas play na muna sya, o kaya naman ginawa nga niya assignment niya pero naman, halatang minadali para makapaglaro na. :)

Pag quarter exams niya i tutor her kung ready na sya or play muna or nuod tv ng 30 mins. Dapat 45 mins lang kami magtuturuan kc after that di na sya attentive, nirereview ko sa kanya yun old test sheets niya w/c i compiled and backup by her textbook yun,pag sleepy sya stop muna basta diko sya pinepressure magreview pagready na sya and always reminding her the importance ng review before ng exam kaya eager naman sya turuan

Before examination week, inuunti-unti ko nang reviewhin yung previous lessons niya to check if she still remembers them. I do this a week before. Nothing too 'heavy' namin sa review, kumbaga eh, dinadaanan ko lang din. I also take extra effort to make mock-up exams per subject based on the pointers given by their teacher. I use her previous quizzes, worksheets, and book exercises as basis kung paano gagawin yung mock-up tests niya. Then a day before her actual exam, dinadaanan ulit namin ng short review yung pointers, then I have her take the mock-up exam for that particular subject. :)

Pero, I still think na ang paraan ng pag-review sa bata ay depende sa kung ano ang pinaka-effective sa anak mo. In my case, sanay na kasi yung daughter ko with tests and worksheets, so I use the 'traditional' method ng pag-review. Although I also incorporate other ways, like for math, I use clay and objects. Nag-games din kami minsan, and we transform mga kailangan imemorize into songs. May pep talk pa talaga kami on the day of the exam itself na ginawa naming song para matandaan niya (Listen, focus, think, answer). :D

On a daily basis naman, pagka-uwi namin, eat, rest, play muna sya for a couple of hours. Then gawa na assignment pag meron/review pag may quiz/ or just go through her lessons for the day. Max na yung  one hour, pero average of 30 mins lang talaga kami para di masyado mabigat for her. :)

I think it's important to incorporate a study routine in kids - hindi dahil gusto mo silang 'i-pressure' mag-aral kundi para ma-instill sa kanila ang disiplina. Mahirap sa umpisa kasi siempre what kids want to do is play, pero once they get used to it, hindi na kayo mahirapan pag kailangan ng study session. :)

WOW! Happy and proud to see praises for LRC Learning Center! My family used to live down the road from the school and I was actually part of the first batch of students who graduated from LRC. My parents were very impressed with how Dr. Cortez and Teacher Celia handled the classes back then, it was very child-friendly.

We didn't speak much English at home but the students were required to speak English all the time and I think that's how I became confident speaking the language- at the age of five! :) Fortunately, I graduated as the class valedictorian for that year. I think it was in 1991 (Hahaha, I'm old! ).

I remember running around the school grounds, the sandbox, the playhouse! It was such a great experience for me :) Send your kids to this school, it's totally worth it. :-)

I am thankful for the ideas from this website. Ever since, I have questions towards my baby, I ready opinions and comments here. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, I also want to share my experiences.. s instance n ito, yung pagrereview.. My toddler starts schooling at 2. 5 years old. Yes, may nagsabi maaga. Indeed, madami po talaga comments but then naniniwala ako that the mother knows best. And of course, fron the guidance of the Lord.  Straight n kc mgsalita anak ko, matanong. I told myself na kailangan kong sbayan development nea. it has nothing to do with too early or what for a child. I am just thinking of her. Sana ganun tayo. Let us not compare. Every child is unique. In fact, out of fun, we made a vlog. Search for our Youtube channel: mommy vee zee n lang. Makikita nui pgreview namin for her basic exam. What I do to my kid is to make him understand what exam is and its importance then prepare a guide and "mini exam" where he could try to envision how quarter exams works. From there, we set a timeframe on the subjects that he will be studying and in between subjects, there will be snack time/break time for 15-30 mins. before we restart studying for a different subject.

I can say that this worked as I can see his growth even though he is studying in an international school in Manila.

Hello! It's a good question. My eldest son took exams for the first time, and we just studied a lot. I was worried that he would be very tired, but he even liked it.
