have you ever spoke with her teacher? baka naman sobrang dami nila sa section nila, at hindi rin nabibigyan nang enough attention?

Sis, pardon my ignorance...
With my situation po, my eldest is 4 y/o and he's not yet into school.
Sa kumon naman po yata, reading and math ang concern, correct me, if i'm wrong...

Have you tried or your mom, na turuan sya? I mean, nakikita nyo naman ba yung willingness niya na mag-school?
I inquired sa Kumon, its really expensive.

hi mommy liamviem,

I'm glad that your child will be with you again soon.

does your child recognize alphabet letters na and now the letter sounds?  I think by age 5, she should at least have mastered that.

Also, there are a lot of words that cannot be pronounced phonetically, kaya they are memorized by sight (sight words).  Try out maybe 3-5 words at a time until she gets it...  you will also find out here how good her memory is.

Ang pagsulat naman ng name is by practice.. so maybe you can make worksheets with your child's name and she can trace it... then when comfortable na siya, have her do writing drills without tracing.  Have her do this frequently. My youngest is 4 years old and I noticed that they have daily name writing drills.

If you need help with making the worksheet, you may make a custom handwriting worksheet at

[urlhttp://www.writingwizard.longcountdown.com/one-word_handwriting_worksheet_maker.html][/url]

This site helps me practice my kids writing and penmanship at home.

The good thing about sitting with your child during homework time at home is that you will be able to see kung saan siya nahihirapan. I have 3 kids and while their school progress reports already indicate which subject  sila mahina, sitting with them through study time allows me to see what in particular their having difficulty with.

I hope this helps  :)

i think kailangan lang ng supervision ng baby mo i have 2 kids kc yung eldest ko ganyan ang naging problem prep na siya he cannot write his own name he just write the initial Z.. then reading huling huli na siya compared sa classmates niya.. so we were advised by his pediatrician to transfer him in a developmental class mas konti ang population in every class 5 lang sila.. ayun after 1 quarter natuto na siya he can write his own name tapos before the year ends he can read na... yun naman bunso ko opposite at age 2 she can write na and memorize the alphabet, color, numbers, st age 3 she can read na mga CVC words.. iba iba kasi ang development ng kids so dont lose hope and maige sana if possible matutukan mo siya..

Hi Sis, we have the same dilemma. My son who is 4 and is turning 5 by Nov. kinausap ako ng teacher niya and sabi that he is regressing daw. I asked her... What do you mean? Kase daw he cannot write legibly, cannot recognise some of the letters anymore, Even his name daw, and lagi daw nagtatanong sakanya kung ano gagawin.

So, regression na yun! Wow... I could not believe, kase I enrolled my son sa progressive school believing that they recognize that each child is intelligent in different ways (music, sports/gross motor, linguistic... Eq/Iq).

Well, for one, Hinde ako nagmamadali sa progress ng bata esp for preschool. I don't want him to be pressured sa pre-school. He can learn as much at home than giving him worksheets and be boxed with rules and follow-the-teacher only.  I know naman that kids develop at their own pace. May classmate yung anak ko na till now cannot recognise letters or even write well... So, I know that's the way to get their attention.

If a child gets too pressured in school... We're really just wasting money. Before, wala naman preschool e, nowadays dapat IQ nila mataas para makasabay sila in big school.

The most important thing a preschool kid should feel is not filling them with too much worksheets,etc.. (esp if they don't like it) but to make them feel loved. That whatever happens, there's their family they can trust and who loves her even if he doesnt write well yet, or read, or recognize shapes, etc. Kahit 5 or 6 yan... They will soon find their ways to know it.

I've read from this site which is so helpful about parents and their kids who did well even w/o preschool...

:( when they should be just playing outdoors (science), baking with mom (learning  numbers with cookies), Dads to read a story to them (linguistic), or even singing a color song while seeing cars on the road, or even scribbling letters to give to her lola/lolo.

By grade 3, you'll know if a kid had too much pressure studying or even in preschool... That's the time you'll see daw if what we've done to our kids is essential on how they learn.

My child was taught how to write when he was in Nursery at Mulberry Kids Preschool, he was about 2 1/2 y.o.  They were taught finger exercise for better pencil grip. Tracing/dotted letters would be a good practice. At 3 he started reading 3 letter word. Practice sounding off each letter correctly. Then pag na master na niya practice first with 3 letter word like car, dog, pen, etc.

ako sis yung son ko before sya mag 4yrs old nag pinasok ko na sya sa nursery and sabi ng teacher nila sa kin kelangan adw after ng school kung ano yung lesson nila sa school ifollow up daw sa house so yun yung ginagawa ko since i reasigned from my work talaga para maasikaso ko anak ko sa schooling niya, tapos sa room namin daming poster na nakakabit na mg anumbers alphabet and addition and subtraction na chart, tapos before sya mag graduate ng nursery he can write his name na and can read the abc and can count na rin pati addition and subtraction. then nung summer naman before sya mag kinder tinuruan ko na syang magbasa bumikli ako nung abakada sa may national book store, dun ko sya nag start mag read tagalog muna kasi mas madali yun kaya nung nag kinder sya nakakabasa na sya ng mga simple words and now prep na sya i can say na he can now write, spell and read crearly na, actually his teacher commended my son for being a fast reader sa class nila.

Sis kelangan lang matutukan mo yung anak mo sa studies niya, after ng school follow up agad sa house para masanay sya sa ganung routine. since wala sa nyo baby mo baka puwede mo sabihin sa mom mo na ganun yung gawin niya kung puwede para at least masanay si baby mo.  i hope this can help.
