Ayaw ng pedia ko ang vicks, kahit saang part ng katawan ni baby. the cool effect daw of vicks actually burns the skin. chaka relief lang naman daw kasi ang binibigay ng vicks from cough, not actually eliminating the virus itself. for my baby girl, 1 ml salinase + 1 ml ventolin nebule for coughing spells. for my son, 2 ml ventolin nebule. do it daw every 6 hours or twice a day, depende sa pagka-lala ng ubo.

we used to apply transpulmin before, pero bigla nawala sa market yun. i dunno why. e pati pedia ko yun ang ginagamit coz she has asthma also.

hindi naman maciadong bad, yung base lang kasi niya is petrolatum or petroleum jelly na hindi naman talaga maganda sa skin kasi it masks the skin na parang plastic...so pwede ka naman magconcoct ng sarili mo youngmom, ako i'm considering it na nga e, yung ingredients ng vicks without petrolatum: eucalyptus, peppermint, camphor and thyme essential oils, halo sa either virgin coconut oil or virgin olive oil...if you want a sticky version, pwede ka maglagay ng beeswax pamelt mo lang...  ;D

per my baby's pedia, vicks is not good for babies. it will burn daw their skins. had asked my son's pedia kasi one time madami syang insect bites.

iwasan lang talaga natin matuyuan ng pawis ang likod ni baby. dapat may sapin talaga ang likod. then check if basa na yung sapin at palitan ng bago. Better yet, palitan yung damit. like sando or yung de-aircon na sando (may mga butas). Mas gugustuhin pa natin na maglaba ng madaming damit ng bata sa sige niya palit kaysa naman magkasakit siya, diba? we really can't help but cry. lalo na pag in pain na talaga ang bata. nagpapanic agad tayo on how we can relieve the pain.... :'(

"Drops should be used up within 14 days after opening the bottle. Discard any remaining drops."

pedia prescribed disudrin and alnix to my son..pedia explained to me naman the dosage and how many to be given. my mistake, na miss understood ko yung prescribed dosage ni baby...2 days later na nung malaman ko na once a day ko lang pala dapat give yung ALNIX(antihesthamine).akala ko kasi both med niya is 3x a day. yun kasi reflect sa mind and yun ang ang akala ko na narinig ko, but nung nagcheck ako ng baby book ni baby nung tue night BANG! ayon nakalagay once a day lang pala ang ALNIX, disudrin lang pala ang 3x a day...huuhhuhu..

i did not inform his pedia yet.kasi di pa kami nakakabalik sa kanya..

eto po yung scenario:

sunday i started giving him the meds after going to his pedia

Disudrin: .5ml
Alnix: .5ml

I gave him ALNIX with this instance:

2x ko sya nabigyan nung sunday
3x nung monday
2x nung tuesday

I suddenly stop giving him alnix after reading his baby book na dapat pala .5ml once daily for 5days lang...tapos I read the dosage naman sa box ng gamot 6-12months 1ml should be the maximum dose to be given.. :'(

..............................

I checked nline MIMS -
http://www.mims.com/Page.aspx?menuid=mng&name=Alnix+syr&brief=false&CTRY=PH#Overdosage

sabi if accidental overdose, consult a Doctor. It wil cause restlessness and irritability talaga. Sana nothing serious.

Hi Mommyjazz thanks for replying...

I'm relieve..I already spoke to my son's pedia kanina. She told me to immediately stop the med, which I already did right after I read the baby book last tue.Sabi niya aantukin lang naman raw si baby o un nga magiging iretable si baby sa amount na napainom namin and she explains to na marerelease din naman agad yung med sa body niya kaya no need to worry daw unless talagang may magbago kay baby...observe ko lang raw..pedia ask me so many things like ok naman ba pagkain ni baby, nakikipaglaro, nagrereact ba if kinakausap..etc..all goes ok naman na lahat ngayon sa tanong niya.except lang talaga yesterday kasi late na siya natulog and napaka early pa niya nagising and irritable sya..pero ok na sya ngayon...but still observe ko padin sya... :)
