@Jerrhince
Nagiiba-iba talaga ang length ng cycle. Our body has its own natural cycle na hindi sumusunod sa calendaryo kaya we need to know kung ilang ang araw ng shortest cycle at longest cycle natin. Kung matatandaan mo as far as the past 6 months, the better. It's not enough na maging basehan ng fertile days mo ang 1 cycle lang o ang average. Kung ang cycle mo ay 26 days ang shortest at 32 days ang longest, you can practice the Standard Days Method (SDM) as explained on Method#3 of this article:
http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/health/your-health/5-natural-birth-control-methods-their-levels-of-effectiveness

@ Shaira, how irregular? If you mean paiba-iba ang bilang ng cycle pero within 26-32 days pa rin, you can still practive the SDM (as explained above). Pero kung talagang mas maiksi o mas mahaba sa 26-32, you can practice the Billings Method (also called the Mucus Method) as explained here.
http://www.smartparenting.com.ph/pregnancy/getting-pregnant/the-billings-ovulation-method-the-natural-way-to-achieve-or-postpone-pregnancy/page/1

What worked for me is the BBT (Basal Body Temperature). BBT is not easy to understand. I need to have a Family Planning Counselor to explain to me, plus, I need to make my own research din. It is sad na sa gov't clinics, they promote the contraceptives when the RH bill states that women will be educated on the options. Medyo kulang ang pag push nila on educating the public on Natural forms of Family Planning leading the majority to think that contraceptives are the first option.

Mommy Gret and Aiden, you can check other signs of fertility and ovulation to know if you're safe or not. App can be your guide but since iba-iba ang pangangatawan natin, hindi ito accurately para sa lahat. You should still check your body signs as mentioned here:

Click this link:
https://www.smartparenting.com.ph/pregnancy/getting-pregnant/how-to-make-a-baby-when-to-know-you-are-ovulating-a00041-20180820?ref=parentchat

If you start pills somewhere in the middle of your cycle, you still need to abstain for 7 days.

Natural Family Planning may not be easy for starters. It requires planning, counting and observing body signs. Pero there are benefits not enjoyed by pill users.

@Zeed Zeed

@Anna
