hi sis its just white eggs.. nakagawa nako nito pero we used it to make merengue.

eto meron galing sa net... you can add coloring food to have various colors.
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
Method

Step 1

Combine the sugar, corn syrup and the water in a quart pot.

Step 2

In a separate mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until they are stiff and hold a peak. Set aside.

Step 3

Bring the sugar mixture to a boil and then to 238 degrees F.

Step 4

Pour the hot syrup over the egg whites in a steady thin stream, beating constantly.

Step 5

Add the vanilla and beat until cool and of spreading consistency. If icing does not seem stiff enough, beat in 2 or 3 tablespoons confectioners sugar 1 tablespoon at a time until stiff enough to hold its shape. Spread over your next cake and enjoy!

if you want something simpler, try making simple chocolate icing.  just melt some butter about 1 bar in a pan and add cocoa powder (yung semi-sweet or bittersweet).  just keep stirring para maging creamy yung consistency and that's it.  just take care na hindi mangingitim yung butter.  mas ok kung medyo soft muna butter para matunaw agad.

@ mistiqshannen:

Ano ba effect pag over o under mix yung icing? Talaga bang parang medyo rough yung texture ng butter icing? Dami questions heheh ;D

Ano ba yung shiny na icing? yung parang may height pag nilagay sa cupcakes.

Ingredients

    * 2 cups shortening
    * 8 cups confectioners' sugar
    * 1/2 teaspoon salt
    * 2 teaspoons clear imitation vanilla extract
    * 6 fluid ounces heavy cream

Directions

   1. Cream shortening until fluffy. Add confectioner's sugar and continue creaming until well blended.
   2. Add salt, vanilla, and whipping cream blend on low speed until moistened. Add additional whipping cream if necessary (up to 2 ounces). Beat at high speed until frosting is fluffy.

naku, sorry sis ngayon ko lang nakita to tagal ko nawala dito sa SP.  usually, isang carton ng ricoa cocoa powder sobra pa e.  what I do is smply add as I go along kas habang halo mo makikita mo kaagad na nagbabago na yung butter at nagiging choco icing na.  i just stop pag gusto ko na yung pagkadark ng icing, yung parang almost black na. hehe. para kasing napakasinful pag ganun
