Gwen, an actress, began by discussing her breastfeeding struggles, revealing that she found it painful in the beginning. She found the pain eased when she started using a nipple seal but eventually decided to pump exclusively instead.
“He’s too heavy. And it unlatches, so parang the milk goes everywhere. And he falls asleep so he doesn’t get a full meal,” she shared. “I exclusively pump, so I can monitor how much he’s drinking.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Besides that, the celebrity mom opened up about the struggles of having a big baby. First, Cooper grows out of his clothes quickly. Gwen also regularly experienced back and neck pain, so her fiancé David gives her massages.
Thankfully, David is more than willing to help out in caring for their firstborn. The basketball player gladly said that he is in charge of bathing, burping, diaper-changing, and feeding their baby through a bottle.
The couple also shared that they observe two shifts in caring for Cooper: Because David has to wake up early to attend basketball practices with his team Talk ‘n Text at the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Gwen takes the night shift.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
David said, “After I get back from training, it’s my turn. So, she’ll relax, pump. And I’ll take care [of] Cooper after.”
According to Gwen and David, Baby Cooper doesn’t cry much at night. Gwen shared that Cooper would usually fall asleep at around 9:30 p.m. and wake up at 4:30 a.m. for a feeding. He will then go back to bed and wake up at 9 a.m., by which time his dad David is still in training.
Looks like Gwen and David are happily enjoying their journey as mom and dad!
