Get ready, the walking show is about to begin! Some babies can walk fifteen meters by this time, others are just beginning to take their first steps. On the other hand, there are babies who walk everywhere, and then revert to crawling, especially if in hot pursuit of a toy or a parent. Either is “normal” for this stage, so don’t worry.
Babies will like assisted walking at this stage. Here is a fun game of walking together. Stand facing each other, holding a foam ball in your hands, and get baby to hold onto it, also. Begin walking backward, causing baby to walk towards you. Walk faster and faster, and notice baby chuckle with glee as she tries to keep up the pace.
Babies still like a social walk between parents, holding on with both hands, or alongside one parent holding on with one hand.
