5 genius baby products to make mom’s life easier

    1. Elvie Pump

Discreet breast pumps aren’t exactly new, but this one looks like it’s going to be a game changer. The Elvie Pump is a small, silent breast pump that you can wear under your bra and clothes so you’re free to go about your daily tasks without worrying about your baby’s milk supply. It’s battery-operated and rechargeable via a USB plug, so other people won’t even notice you’re pumping! There’s also an app you can download on your phone to use as a remote control, monitor your milk, and view your pumping session history.

What you’ll love: The expressed breastmilk is collected in a BPA free, 5-ounce reusable container so you can transfer it to whatever storage you prefer! It will also automatically detect a let-down and pause when the container is full.

Where to get it: It’s awaiting FDA approval in the United States, so for now it’s only available in the United Kingdom starting at £249.00 (around Php17,000). But it will be sold in Amazon, according to their company website. If you’re interested, you can learn more about Elvie Pump through their website and join the waiting list here.

    2. Oeteo Easyeo Romper

Onesies are part of a newborn’s essentials but you’ll quickly find out that some babies can get really fussy when you dress and undress them. A Singapore clothing brand named Oeteo wants to change that with the Easyeo (prounounced as easy-o) Romper. (We spotted them at the Hong Kong Baby Products Fair last January 2019. See what else we found here.)

This line of rompers has no snaps, buttons, or zippers, but you can put it on baby effortlessly while saving time in the process. Watch how it works in this video!

What you’ll love: The romper is made of soft cotton with an elastic waistband so you can slip on the bottom part easily and still achieve a “gentle snug-fit.”

Where to get it: The Easyeo Rompers start at SGD8.45 (around Php323) each. They provide free shipping to the Philippines for minimum orders of SGD60 through their website.

    3. BioCair Dry Mist Disinfection Machine

You only need 1 hour for disinfection and there's no need to leave the room — the solution is non-toxic and safe for children.

Your newborn is more susceptible to infections and illnesses, which is why it’s important to always keep the home clean and sanitized (and remind visitors to do the same!). While there are already a number of diffusers out there, this new product from Singapore claims to have a “breakthrough technology” that has a stronger disinfection ability than alcohol and will improve indoor air quality. By using the Air Purifying Solution, the machine will generate dry mist that supposedly “kills airbone pathogens on contact.”

What you’ll love: You don’t have to leave the room while it’s on because it’s non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-irritant, so it’s safe to inhale. It also has additional features like a timer, auto shut-off, night light, and an adjustable mist and humidity volume.

Where to get it: The brand has a local distributor in the country and you can get it in Lazada for Php10,500. It comes with the machine plus two containers of the air purifying solution.

    4. Doona Infant Car Seat Stroller

Another essential you’ll need for baby is a stroller plus a car seat if you plan on traveling with your little one. (The Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act is on its way to becoming a law, after all.) You get both with the Doona, a car seat that transforms into a stroller in seconds! It’s easy to fold and unfold, with swivel wheels and one-touch brake to make being on the go easier.

What you’ll love: It has a newborn infant insert, so you can safely transport infants in the carrier. It’s also been tested and certified for safety with a 3-layer side impact protection and Anti-Rebound Bar crash technology so you can put your worries to rest.

Where to get it: The Doona comes in 7 different colors and you can get it for Php26,999 at Baby Company outlets nationwide.

Your baby’s skin is sensitive so using regular detergent on her clothes might make her uncomfortable. Look for a gentle cleanser like Seventh Generation’s laundry detergent. It’s made with plant-based ingredients and has no synthetic dyes or fragrances, so not only is it environmentally-friendly, it’s hypoallergenic, too.

What you’ll love: Though it’s plant-based, the formula is tough enough to remove stains. You might also like to check out their other products, which include hypoallergenic and fragrance-free baby wipes and diapers and natural bottle and utensil cleansers.

Where to get it: Laundry detergents (1.47 liters) start at Php899.75 and is available at Robinsons Supermarkets nationwide, Rustan's Department Store, The Parenting Emporium, Earth Origins, and Baby & Beyond.
