Teen Without Arms and Legs Creates Beautiful ArtworkTruly an inspiration.
Here’s your daily dose of inspiration. A 16-year-old boy born without the use of his arms and legs is able to create beautiful artworks against all odds, proving that with resilience and perseverance anything is attainable.
In order to raise awareness for the thousands of disabled children from crisis-stricken countries and to bring to light the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund’s (UNICEF) tireless efforts to reach out to them, a video was posted on the organization’s Facebook page about Amir.
Amir lives in Nepal and he paints artworks depicting his life. Even without arms and legs, he has taught himself how to write and wield a paintbrush with his mouth.
“I used to grab my brother's pen with my mouth and use it to write my name. At first, the letters were big and messy. Then I wrote more and more and more and, eventually, the letters became clearer,” says Amir.
It was the loneliness that took a toll on Amir, he says. But instead of wallowing in his woes, he turned to self-expression. He overcame his disability to make art. "I used to sit on the balcony all alone. I would try to bottle up my pain and because of that pain, I made poetry and songs and art... my soul feels that [my paintings] understand me," Amir says.
You inspire us to become stronger individuals, Amir. May you continue to touch the hearts of more people around the world.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
