Based on a comic strip by Fabio Coala, this award-winning animated short film The Present is about a boy who just received a present from his mom: a puppy. At first, the boy is ecstatic until he lifts the puppy. One of his legs is missing, and the boy is instantly repulsed. But the puppy doesn't care--he just wants to play. It's a beautiful story about how disability isn't inability, and we should never be too quick to judge each other. The film definitely tugs at the heartstrings so ready your tissues. We highly recommend you watch this with your preschooler or tween.
