  • As the Department of Education (DepEd) gears up for the school year 2020-2021, the Knowledge Channel released its programming schedule for Kindergarten to Grade 10 students.

Danie Sedilla-Cruz, Knowledge Channel head, tells SmartParenting.com.ph that its original programming content is based on DepEd's "Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs)." The schedule covers Math, Science, English, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan subjects.

The channel, which has been airing curriculum-based video lessons since 1999, will air its programs on cable channels, SKYcable Channel 5 and GSat Direct TV Channel 45.

For households without cable, Sedilla-Cruz says a Knowledge Channel Livestream will be available on iWant, the video on demand platform of ABS-CBN.

The channel is also creating original content that will air on Facebook, starting August 24.

"We have Wikaharian online for Filipino, Science Says for Science and Mathdali for Math. We also have Knowledge on the Go, a subject-based quiz that's also based on the MELCs."
