Laurice Chua of Instaprints Photo Booth: Picture PerfectMompreneur Laurice helps you capture life’s best moments.by Marla Miniano .
The Mompreneur: Laurice Chua, businesswoman (she owns a travel agency with her sisters and also sells imported baby, maternity, and nursing items on the side), wife to Marvin, and mom to one-year-old Haley and three-month-old Liam.
The Business Idea: “With Instaprints Photo Booth, we want to capture fun moments at parties and events and give them out to guests as souvenirs. It's a win-win for both hosts and guests—hosts get to keep a file of those who attended and guests get to take home something in remembrance of the party with their faces on it (unlike other souvenirs that end up collecting dust at home or worse, being thrown away as trash).”
What Makes Them Different: “We are very flexible in customizing our package to suit the clients' requirements. From the backdrop, to the photo card layout, props, and even the onsite screen—we customize everything free of charge to match the clients' party motif.”
How It Works: “People inquire about the availability on the date they have chosen, then when we require a little deposit to book the date. We advise the clients to give us at least two weeks to work on the customization. We always show up at least one hour before the event to set up and make sure the clients have a good time.”
Whiz Kids: “It's amazing how kids nowadays have become techie and independent. My first project was actually booked by a 12-year-old for her little brother's seventh birthday party!”
Mompreneur Advice: “Don't be afraid to take risks. But before starting anything, it's wise to calculate and budget your investment. Make sure that you are willing (or can afford) to lose the investment that you set. Be resourceful; make use of things you already have (for those with limited budget) and network with relatives and friends (for better deals on supplies and good promotion of your business).”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
The Perks of Being a Mom: “I think I've found my calling in motherhood. It becomes challenging at times, but each smile, each milestone, each new trick, and each little thing that my kids do brings joy and fulfillment beyond words. But the best reward for me is the pure unconditional love I get from my children.”
