This Dad Had 14 Yayas in a Year! Here Are His (Funny!) Horror StoriesThis hands-on dad is a professional DJ, and, yes, he's the one dealing with the pasaway yayasby Kitty Elicay .
One problem we’re sure many Filipino parents can relate to is finding a yaya (helper). And it’s not just about finding one — the biggest challenge is to hire a good yaya who will stay in your household and take care of your kids (for years on end ideally).
In fact, just say the word “yaya problems,” and moms will have endless stories to tell, from horror stories, yaya dramas, and dealing with other tricky situations. But yaya stories from dads? Their perspective can be hilarious, and our favorite storyteller at the moment is Mars Miranda.
We thought it would be entertaining to talk to Mars, a professional DJ (yes, you read that right!) and dad of two, after we became fans of his #yayaproblems posts on his Facebook. We tapped two our favorite moms, Czarina Ledesma and Chal Lontoc-del Rosario, both of whom have equally funny horror stories to tell, to get the story behind his posts. (They've never read his posts until the day they met him at our studio.)ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
From a yaya who only stayed for a day to a yaya who turned turkey into paksiw, Mars talks about various mishaps and how he deals with pasaway household help.
The best part: he provides helpful tips when it comes to handling household help. Talk about being a hands-on dad!
Watch the video below for some laughs and some honest-to-goodness dad perspective!
