"It was the first time I saw my child become so emotional about a certain thing, and it made my heart melt," the mom said.

If you can see, feel, and touch love, what would it look like? When we first saw this handmade doll house on social media, all we could see was love of family.

On January 8, a mom shared photos of her daughter's doll house and book shelf on Facebook. She said her family made it from scratch and gave it to her 7-year-old daughter last Christmas.

Kyla A. Magbag, 32, from Calamba City, Laguna told Smart Parenting that the doll house was too precious not to share.

"I was so grateful to my parents for spoiling my daughter like that. And of course, to recognize their efforts - my dad Adriano Abrenilla, my mom Mared Abrenilla, and my youngest sister Kisha Abrenilla, who built the doll house from scratch."

In an interview with Inquirer, Kyla said it took 10 days for them to build the Team Kahoy-themed doll house.

We asked her how she felt when her post received only praises and admiration. "Oh, I already know people will love it because it's really pretty, plus functional."

"I also was surprised when I first saw the draft of the doll house, but it still hit differently when I saw people commenting and getting inspired to make their kids their own. It's every parent's dream," she said.

Kyla shared how her daughter felt when she got the gift. "She's obsessed with it, both of us are actually haha. She already made little DIY people to go with the doll house and had her Barbie dolls sleep on the tiny bed."

Just looking at the details makes us cry knowing how much love and effort were put into creating the vase, the drawers, the bed, the picture frames, everything. Every part of the house shows how much her family loves her daughter, and she deserves to know it.

This doll house is not just a toy; it's love in physical form.

And true love, when given, is almost always well-received. "I also saw how appreciative my daughter is. She was teary-eyed when she received that Christmas gift and she hugged her grandpa so tight. She's a Lolo's girl. She kept thanking him and her Tita (my sister) for their efforts. It was the first time I saw my child become so emotional about a certain thing, and it made my heart melt," Kyla told Smart Parenting.

Kyla said the moment also made her realize that toys do not have to be expensive to be appreciated. "At an early age, my daughter was taught to do DIY crafts instead of buying. We taught her to make her dolls and even sew. It's also a practical life skill," she shared.

"My daughter is the happiest when she makes her paper toys (and making a huge mess) rather than receiving the store-bought ones."

She admits to being a frugal mom and when it comes to buying toys, they don't usually splurge. "Yes, we still buy from toy stores now and then, but we try to stick to a budget, and our daughter understands that."

Amid the rising prices of onions, gas, and everything, what we can learn from this handmade doll house is that anything made with love is worth more than the most expensive gift.

Finally, she left this important reminder for us parents, "Maybe we can spend more on experiences - playgrounds, museums, theme parks, picnics, swimming, etc. As they grow up, they would hardly remember the little toys, but the memories will always stay."
