  • Here's a Catalog of the Best Children's Books Published in 2015 and in the Last 8 Years

Searching for your child's next favorite bedtime story? Look no further!

  • Unabashedly, we profess our love of books. And we want our children to love them too, that’s why we read to them as often as we can and as much as we can.

The year 2015 has undoubtedly brought us many gifts of beautifully-written and illustrated pieces of literature magic. Surely, you have some of them now on your bookshelf and on your child’s bookshelves.

In case you’ve unknowingly looked past some of the best children’s books 2015 has to offer, NPR’s Book Concierge has got you covered. NPR stands for National Public Radio and that’s what it is for the U.S. The good souls behind NPR have been compiling what they believe are the best books of the year all the way back since 2008.

They’ve made everything easier and more convenient for last year’s list by creating a repository site for it. It’s a joy to browse through. You might find that you’ve quite easily lost an hour going through the sea of beautiful covers.

They didn’t just dump all the books in one place either. The website allows you to sort through the books by category and filters. It even allows you to pick more than one if you’re looking for a particular type of book. Highlight Kids’ Books and Funny Stuff, for example, and you get books like The Bear Ate Your Sandwich and The Truth About Twinkle Pie

    What other parents are reading

Highlight Family Matters and Comics & Graphic Novels, and you get titles like The Story of My Tits. Looking for a love story for ladies? Look up books under Love Stories and Ladies First for All the Bright Places and Single, Carefree, Mellow

Once you click on a book, the site will give you a review written by staff, correspondents and authors. That’s not all, it will also tell you all the categories your chosen book’s under and give you a link for where you can purchase it (Amazon, iBooks and independent bookstores). There’s also an option to read an excerpt on some books.

Here are some of the children's books suggested by the site we have yet to read and are excited to get our hands on:

    For the beautiful artwork

    For the giggles

    For an eye-opener

    For older kids

    For bonding moments

    For when pictures are enough
