New Mom Kylie Padilla on Having Baby Alas: 'Right Timing Siya'The actress and new mom discovered her maternal instincts and realized that her pregnancy and being a mom happened at just the right time.by Rachel Perez .
When rumors of her pregnancy surfaced early this year, one of Kylie Padilla's pressing concerns was what would happen to her role as Amihan in the fantaserye Encantadia. But the fears subsided eventually. She wanted to be a mom, and it was happening.
Kylie had admitted before that having a family was all in the plan. She and fiance, actor Aljur Abrenica, were to get married and have kids—the 'having kids' part just happened earlier.
Fast forward to today, Kylie has given birth, and she and Aljur are busy attending to the needs of their nearly three-month-old son, Alas Joaquin. She's at her baby boy's beck and call, as she's breastfeeding, while Aljur takes over at night when she needs to sleep and recharge.

"Feeling ko, right timing siya," Kylie said in an interview for Yes! Magazine's November 2017 issue. She realized that Alas's arrival isn't "wrong timing," after all. "Since I found purpose and one family na kami, I have more reason to work now. I have more focus now. I know what I'm working for now," the new mom explained. "Kinumpleto niya ako. Kinumpleto niya 'yong gusto kong family," Kylie added.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
The 24-year-old actress is planning to go back to her passion, which is acting. In fact, there are projects, including a sequel to Encantadia, lined up for when she gets back from her indefinite hiatus from showbiz. Kylie believes she can be a mom and still continue doing what she loves to do, like other working mothers. "I have more respect for them now," she said, referring to moms who juggle work and family life.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended VideosADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW

But Kylie is not in a hurry at all. "I wanna give [Alas] the right amount of time for breastfeeding, brain development, and everything," she said. More importantly, she wants to forge an unbreakable bond with her son. "Nakakapraning kasi minsan parang feeling ko, makakalimutan niya ako pag every other day I'm gone," she explained.
There's so much in store for the future for Kylie, Aljur, and Alas. Baptism, for one, is already in the works, though they haven't set a date yet. The new mom wants her little boy to be baptized in both Christian and Islamic rites. She's confident that when that time comes, her dad Robin Padilla will finally see his apo. From the beginning, Robin has been firm on his stand that Kylie and Aljur should get married first for him to give them his blessings.
Marriage is also on the horizon, but Alas is still their priority now. "I think both of us matured a great deal with having a kid, kasi the things, the old things we would fight about, wala na talaga," Kylie shared.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Having been raised in a big family, Kylie said she also wants a baby girl. So who knows? Maybe a baby girl is also in their family's future.
