  • This letter is part of a special Mother's Day series from Smart Parenting. The first letter was written to the single mom.

    To the working mom,

As working moms ourselves, we understand the demands and pressures that come with balancing the responsibilities of work and family life. We want to take a moment to acknowledge your hard work and dedication to both your career and your family, and to offer our support and encouragement.

We know that it's not easy to juggle the demands of a job and the needs of your family. It can be stressful and overwhelming at times, and it's okay to feel that way. But we want to remind you that you are doing an amazing job.

Say it with us, “I am doing an amazing job.”

    What other parents are reading

You are showing your children what it means to be a strong and independent, and you are setting a positive example for them to follow.

We also want to acknowledge the sacrifices that you make in order to provide for your family. It takes a lot of courage and determination to balance work and family responsibilities, and we know that it's not always easy. Whether it's missing out on special moments with your children, working long hours to provide for them, or simply feeling exhausted from the demands of your job, your efforts do not go unnoticed.

    We see you, mom.

'You are showing your children that women can be successful in their careers while also being loving and supportive mothers.'

But we also want to remind you that it's important to take care of yourself, too. Self-care is not selfish, and in fact, it's essential for your own wellbeing and for the wellbeing of your family. Find something, at least one thing, that you can do every day for your self-care. It can be a few minutes of meditating, exercising, or a hobby. It might be all allowing yourself to rest and recharge when you need it. Know that you deserve to prioritize your own needs as well.

Remember incredible impact that you have on your children's lives. You are showing them that it's possible to balance work and family responsibilities, and that women can be successful in their careers while also being loving and supportive mothers. You are inspiring them to be the best versions of themselves, and for that alone,  we are grateful.

So on this day, we want to offer our heartfelt gratitude and admiration to you. You are an amazing mother, a hard worker, and an inspiration to us all. Keep on shining, and know that you have our support and encouragement every step of the way.

    Sincerely,

    Your Smart Parenting Family
