Mom Confessions: 8 Funny Bloopers of First-Time Mothers

There’s always a first time for everything – for many women, that includes being a mother. A mother’s instinct, which has been said to come on instantly after having a baby, may come with deep love and instant connection. However, it does not come with expertise at changing diapers or at deciphering a newborn’s cry. For many mommies, mothering is an acquired skill that is honed with a lot of practice.

It is not surprising that many new mothers will have more than one ‘blooper’ during the first few days and weeks of being one. Every boo-boo will undoubtedly come with a few laughs and a little bit of guilt. We asked some mothers to share their own first-time boo-boos.

(While I was cutting my baby’s fingernails, I didn’t realize that I was already cutting into the flesh of my baby’s pinky finger. Also, whenever I would give him a bath I never get to wash all his body parts because he would cry.)
