    3 H's Of Motherhood

For those who chose it, motherhood is arguably the most fulfilling role a woman can take. But that's not to say that it's an easy task.

Rica points out the three H's that encapsulates what it means to be a mom in her recent vlog. She says being a mom is Hard, Healing, and it is a Holy Calling.

    Motherhood is HARD

No one can really put into words how hard being a mom is. From pregnancy, giving birth, caring for a newborn, and looking after your children for the rest of their lives, being a mom requires you to be strong physically and mentally.

A mom of two boys, Philip and Manu, Rica affirms every mother out there who may be plagued with doubt: "You're not getting it wrong. You're not just being maarte. Motherhood is hard."

"For all the pains and joy of motherhood, it is all worth it. Remember, you're raising world-changers."

She adds, "If you think about it, you have to stretch your uterus, your tummy, and yourself, your heart, your emotions. You have to transform your ways of living just to be able to accommodate this new being into your life."

Rica notes that part of being a mother is to embrace its entirety including those parts which are challenging. She says, "Hindi natin kailangan i-deny sa ating mga sarili na may mga paghihirap na kasama ang pagiging nanay."

    Motherhood is HEALING

Rica, who is also one of Smart Parenting's editor-at-large, also notes that it is also in those challenging moments that moms can also find healing.

When moms would feel and tell themselves: "I don't think I'm doing enough," "I'm inadequate," or "I don't think that I'm the perfect mom for this child," Rica hopes that moms would still see how their children still "adores me like no other. This child goes crazy if I'm not around. I am the safe space of my child."
