Why Toni Considers Paris Her Most Memorable Trip with Paul and SeveThis sweet moment happened for the first time while they were traveling in Europe.by Lei Dimarucut-Sison .
For the Soriano family of three, summer can't come soon enough. Paul and Toni have big plans for the next few months, all of which are geared towards filling the memory bank of their 1-year-old son Severiano Elliott, or Seve, with happy childhood experiences.
First on their list? "We're gonna try to do some travels, just within Asia," Paul tells SmartParenting.com.ph at the Red Ribbon event which launched the three of them as the newest brand ambassadors. "And when we say travel, it's not just the world but also within our country. Our country's actually so beautiful," he adds. He says he has brought Seve to Palawan, Siargao, and in Baguio where he went horseback riding with him, but he also loves sweet and leisurely days when the two of them can just play in the park, or go swimming.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Travel is something this family has always loved, and for Toni the one she won't forget is their recent Europe trip. "I will never forget our trip in Paris because that was the first time Seve walked. We were talking in the hallway, tapos bigla nya kaming iniwan, naglakad sya. Maliit lang yung hallway [so] siguro iniisip nya, 'Kayang-kaya kong i-balance ang sarili ko.' He just started walking!"ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Besides travel, Seve will also get a break this summer from his tutoring classes. That's right—just like his friend Scarlet Snow Belo Kho, Seve has also started learning about numbers, letters, colors, and animal sounds at a young age.
Says Paul, "As parents, it's our responsibility to educate our child as much as we can. He's one and a half now, so the education he's getting is catered for his age. It's important that he gets to learn the foundation, and I think he's enjoying it also."
Toni agrees and adds, "It's not something that we are forcing him into; it's something we are allowing him to experience, on his own time, according sa rhythm nya, sa attention span nya."
Lastly, Toni and Paul want their son to spend some time with his grandparents. "I definitely agree with the saying that the best gift you can give your parents is a grandkid, so we [want] them to enjoy Seve. If they want to buy him a little toy, it's fine. Usually when he's with the grandparents may toy yan, or pinapakain ng candies or juice. We have to control it. But when it comes to the discipline, when it comes to the values, it's an understanding that it comes from Toni and I," says the first-time dad.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Truly, when you're a new parent, the days are long but the years are short, and Paul and Toni are much aware that being able to spend sweet time with Seve is precious.
Paul says, "I wanna see how much I could exercise his imagination and open his mind so he can also create. I actually can't wait to learn from him, learn from his perspective... To be able to share with him some of our favorite things, and then see it from his point of view. That's really what I'm most excited about."ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
