Dr. Hayden Kho: 'Vicki Is Slowing Down At Work To Spend More Time With Scarlet Snow'Her husband, Hayden Kho, has taken a more active role in the business.by Kitty Elicay .
Dr. Vicki Belo may not be a celebrity, but she is a household name and the driving force of the Belo Medical Group, the country’s biggest medical aesthetic ambulatory clinic. But while she’s accomplished many things in her life, the working mom, at 63, has acknowledged that it is time to slow down and focus on being a mother to her youngest daughter, Scarlet Snow.
In August 2019, Dra. Vicki Belo hinted at her plan to eventually slow down on her career and focus more on her family. In an interview with PEP.ph, she shares that she believes “there has to be a new blood. It’s a new age.”
She’s also grateful that her husband, Dr. Hayden Kho who has always been by her side, has stepped up to take over the business. “Hayden is such a wonderful combination ‘cause he’s a doctor and a businessman. So for someone who understands both and be so close to me so that he knows how I think, how I feel, parang he can already guess what I would say,” Vicki tells Pep.ph. “So there’s a continuity even if I’m not there.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
For his part, Hayden acknowledges that the main reason he has taken a more active and major role in the Belo Medical Group is for his wife to spend more time with their daughter and live a longer life. “The longer she lives, the more time we’ll have with Scarlet,” he explains to SmartParenting.com.ph and other members of the press at the recent Air Intellipure launch. Hayden has been named as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Belo Medical Group.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
He adds, “Lately competition has been so fierce. We’ve gotten to the point that we’re very big. I’m not complaining about it but with the size and success comes responsibility. Not just for the business, the financial aspect of it, but also for the people who work with us. 570 people are too many as a load on the back of Vicki. So gusto ko siyang tulungan and my reason is humaba ang buhay niya and mas madalas niyang makasama si Scarlet.”
In July 2019, Vicki expressed that she didn’t want to be strict at first because she was afraid that Scarlet Snow would not love her. But the mom of three eventually discovered that her little girl loved her and her dad, even more, when they started to discipline her.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
“Kasi parang before that she treated me like nothing, but when I started to put my foot down, parang now she looks for me, so combine love with discipline. Discipline without love doesn’t work,” she stressed.
Hayden tells Smart Parenting, “My daughter is a girl so gusto kong ma-pick up nia yung mannerisms niya and personality niya from Vicks. And even the values kasi Vicks is a person who’s full of integrity. Very honest, very loyal, and very faithful so gusto ko ma-pick up ni Scarlet ‘yung values na ‘yun from Vicks.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Vicki says Scarlet Snow’s arrival meant she could do parenting all over again and it has made her so happy. “Ang sarap. Talagang lagi kong kasama si Scarlet. Nakikita ko lahat — first walk, first word — everything! Enjoy na enjoy ako,” she shares in a previous interview with Smart Parenting.
“I realized I missed a lot by being so goal-oriented while I was younger,” she adds. “So, my advice to parents is habang bata pa ‘yung mga anak ninyo, i-enjoy ninyo kasi ang bilis nila lumaki.”
Scarlet Snow, like any other 4-year-old is curious about the world and asks so many questions. Click here to read how dad Hayden handles her toughest questions.
