While the COVID-19 pandemic is a serious global health issue, it is also proving the goodness of humanity, with individuals, corporations, and even kids doing what they can to flatten the curve and limit the spread of the virus. If you’re a parent running out of activities to do with the kids, e-commerce site Amazon is throwing you a lifeline: it’s audiobook service, Audible, is making hundreds of books available for streaming online.
“For as long as schools are closed, we’re open,” Audible’s Stories homepage reads. “Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.”
The service is free for anyone and everyone. Audible is also making it user-friendly by removing log-in or sign-up requirements. The collection has various audiobooks for listeners of all ages. “Littlest listeners” can stream books like Wheels on the Bus, Winnie the Pooh, Just So Stories, and more. Kids in elementary can enjoy books like R.L. Stine’s Camp Red Moon and Lewis Carroll’s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, while tweens can listen to Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja, Astrophysics for Young People in a Hurry, and Wizard for Hire.
