    • Philosophy
      Kumon believes that individuals who have acquired life skills are those who can learn independently and are confident enough to work towards realizing their own dreams and aspirations. The program defines life skills as the ability to face complex issues in a calm and composed manner while taking up these challenges with courage and a solution in mind.
    • Method of teaching
      “Kumon is a self-teaching method. Worksheets are assigned to be done on a daily basis and are developmental and incremental to develop self-teaching,” says Kumon Instructor Emma Gutierrez.“
    • Ideal age to start
      Gutierrez personally recommends Kumon two to three months after a child has started schooling or when a child can already focus and can understand instructions.
    • Program length
      The Math program has 23 levels, with 20 units in each level, while the Reading program consists of 18 study levels with a total of 3,800 double-sided worksheets.
    • Fees
      1,460 a month with registration fee of P340
    • Results
      Gutierrez asserts, "A child improves his focus and attention span or concentration ability. He learns to cooperate, listens to instructions, and follows procedures that are important to develop during his preschool years. A child enrolled in either the math or reading program will gain confidence."
